The Grand Ole Opry invites Gentry to represent her father at its Christmas centennial celebration. While visiting the Opry, she sits in an oak church pew and is transported to 1995. Her longtime friend Mac, played by Kristoffer Polaha, is there too. The journey gives Gentry a chance to spend time with her father, find inspiration to finish a song she began as a teenager and learn more about him. Hallmark’s official synopsis describes the premise and characters on its film page.
Jett Wade and Winters & Wade are fictional characters, not figures from the Opry’s real performance history. The film uses fantasy and romance to explore family memory and songwriting; it is not a documentary about country musicians.
