Their story is a shift from trading features to sharing a full project—and it continued afterward with Drake’s appearance on 21 Savage’s “Mr. Recoup.”
What was Drake and 21 Savage’s first song together?
The earliest released collaboration documented by the FADER and GRAMMY.com is “Sneakin’,” released in 2016. It established the basic format that would define their partnership for several years: a single track on one artist’s release, rather than a joint album. The Official Charts Company also includes “Sneakin’” in its UK Drake featuring 21 Savage history.

How did their collaborations develop before Her Loss?
The next key releases show the feature moving in both directions. Drake appeared on 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s music; 21 Savage later appeared on Drake’s album. These were collaborations within each artist’s own project, not a co-billed body of work.
| Year | Song | Release context |
|---|---|---|
| 2020 | “Mr. Right Now” | Drake guests on 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s Savage Mode II. Pitchfork and GRAMMY.com document the track and release context. |
| 2021 | “Knife Talk” | 21 Savage appears on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy. The track is documented by GRAMMY.com and the Official Charts Company. |
The sequence matters: “Mr. Right Now” put Drake on a project led by 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, while “Knife Talk” placed 21 Savage on Drake’s album. They were becoming familiar collaborators without yet presenting themselves as a joint-album act.

Why is “Jimmy Cooks” a turning point?
“Jimmy Cooks,” featuring 21 Savage, closed Drake’s 2022 album Honestly, Nevermind and linked that release to the announcement of Her Loss. GRAMMY.com reports that “Jimmy Cooks” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. In the UK, the Official Charts Company lists a peak of No. 7 on the UK Official Singles Chart and No. 1 on its UK Hip Hop and R&B Singles Chart; those are separate chart measures, not a single global ranking.
The song’s music video revealed that Drake and 21 Savage had a joint project coming. Their shift from guest appearances to a shared album was therefore announced through a collaboration that still belonged to Drake’s solo album.

When was Her Loss released, and what changed?
Her Loss was released on November 4, 2022, as a 16-track joint album. The release had initially been announced for October 28. SiriusXM reported that it was delayed by one week after Noah “40” Shebib contracted COVID-19 while mixing and mastering the project.
Its track list includes “Rich Flex,” “Major Distribution,” “On BS,” “Spin Bout U,” “Hours in Silence,” “Treacherous Twins,” “Circo Loco,” “Pussy & Millions,” “Broke Boys,” and “More M’s,” among other songs. Travis Scott guests on “Pussy & Millions.” The album’s length marks the clearest change in scale from the earlier single-track features, though it should not be taken to mean both artists participate equally on every track.

GRAMMY.com reports that Drake and 21 Savage discussed helping each other with their verses during a SiriusXM Sound42 interview. The album also reached No. 1 in the Official Charts Company’s UK Official Albums Chart midweek update data; that page identifies the figure as a midweek position, not an unqualified final chart result.
Did Drake and 21 Savage collaborate after Her Loss?
Yes. The 21 Savage official store lists Drake as a feature on “Mr. Recoup,” a track on What Happened to the Streets?. The store also documents 2-LP vinyl editions of that album. This confirms a post-Her Loss collaboration, but it does not establish “Mr. Recoup” as their latest collaboration as of October 2026.
