TLC described Liz’s engagement ring as “4-carat.” The announcement does not identify the stone, maker, setting or model, so the carat description is TLC’s, not an independent gemological verification. Liz and Alec said, as quoted by TLC: “After all the laughs, adventures, late nights, and memories together, we finally get forever! Alec and I are so excited for this next chapter.”
How does this relate to the Big Ed breakup?
The engagement follows the highly publicized end of Liz’s relationship with Big Ed, whose real name is Ed Brown. In a June 3, 2024 interview, Liz told Entertainment Tonight that Ed called off their wedding without telling her. She described the experience as “traumatizing.” That interview reflects her account of the breakup, not a current relationship update.

Who was Jayson, the boyfriend Liz discussed in 2024?
Jayson Zuniga was the boyfriend Liz discussed in interviews after her separation from Ed; he is not the Alec identified as her fiancé in TLC’s 2026 announcement. Liz told TV Insider on July 18, 2024 that she began dating Jayson in October after separating from Ed. She said they met at an eight-mile run, and the report said they were living together at the time.
