Emilia Pérez was the 82nd Golden Globes’ leading film nominee, with 10 nominations, but nominations did not guarantee wins: The Brutalist took best motion picture drama and Emilia Pérez won best motion picture musical or comedy. In television, Shōgun and Hacks won the top drama and musical-or-comedy series awards. The ceremony took place on January 5, 2025, honoring film and television work from 2024.
What “favourites” means for the 82nd Golden Globes
The 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards were held on January 5, 2025, and recognized eligible work from the year ended December 31, 2024. The official winners announcement followed on January 6. So “favourites” here means the contenders and expectations before the ceremony; the winners listed below are the known outcomes.
The official nominations establish who was in contention, not a ranked prediction list. The available nomination and results records do not establish pre-show odds or a consensus favourite. A large nomination haul signals prominence in the field, but it should not be mistaken for proof that a title was expected to win.
