Disney’s portfolio includes ABC, ESPN, Hulu, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel and 20th Century Studios. They are useful examples of the businesses and brands associated with the company—not seven entities with an identical legal structure. Disney’s fiscal 2025 annual report describes operations across Entertainment, Sports and Experiences, and distinguishes wholly owned operations from partial ownership interests.
What “owned by Disney” means
The Walt Disney Company operates through subsidiaries and businesses, while familiar names may be operating businesses, services or brands within a larger operation. The examples below show the range of Disney’s portfolio; they are not a complete legal-entity list, and the annual report does not characterize every name as a separate wholly owned subsidiary.
Disney’s fiscal 2025 annual report groups its operations into three segments: Entertainment, Sports and Experiences. The seven examples here are associated with its entertainment and sports activities.
Seven prominent Disney businesses and brands
| Name | What it is known for | Portfolio context |
|---|---|---|
| ABC | Television network and television stations | Disney’s report identifies ABC Television Network and its owned ABC television stations. |
| ESPN | Sports media and programming | Reported within Disney’s Sports activities. |
| Hulu | U.S. direct-to-consumer streaming service | Identified as a U.S. service in Disney’s report; Hulu also appears in Disney’s current television organization. |
| Pixar | Animation studio | One of the studio businesses and brands in Disney’s entertainment portfolio. |
| Lucasfilm | Film and television entertainment, including Star Wars stories | Part of Disney’s entertainment studio portfolio. |
| Marvel | Superhero stories and related entertainment | A studio brand in Disney’s entertainment portfolio. |
| 20th Century Studios | Film studio and film releases | Among the studios and brands reported within Disney’s entertainment activities. |
The annual report identifies these businesses or brands in its account of Disney’s operations, but it does not assign a specific legal-entity label or ownership percentage to each name in this list. For a precise legal claim, consult the report’s subsidiary and ownership disclosures rather than treating brand recognition as proof of corporate structure.
#1 Best Overall
- After little Lilo Pelekai adopts the alien known as Experiment 626, she renames him Stitch and does her best to train her new “puppy” with a little help from Elvis Presley.
- Though Stitch may be cute and fluffy on the outside, he’s constantly battling his destructive impulses. He was designed by an evil genius to be a monster, after all.
- Pretending to be a kaiju, Stitch rampages through the tiny cityscape while gobbling up cars and leveling paper buildings along the way.
- Based on the treasured Disney animated film Lilo and Stitch, the Stitch X San Francisco Q-Fig Max Elite will remind Disney fans why they fell in love with this adorable little mayhem machine.
- Sometimes we all have to blow off a little steam, but with Stitch in your Q-Fig collection you’re sure to smile and remember that ohana means family - no matter what.
Partial ownership shows why the distinction matters
Not every well-known name associated with Disney is wholly owned. Disney’s fiscal 2025 annual report says National Geographic-branded television channels, its magazine and online business are “owned 73% by the Company.” It also describes A+E Global Media as a 50% equity investment. These are different arrangements: majority ownership in the first case and a partial equity stake in the second.
Those examples are not additional entries in the seven-name list. They illustrate why casual lists of “companies owned by Disney” can blur ownership percentages, investments, operating businesses and brands.

How Disney’s current organization fits in
In a March 16, 2026 announcement, Disney described a revised leadership structure for its expanded Disney Entertainment segment. The organization included ABC Entertainment, Disney Branded Television, Hulu Originals, National Geographic Content, ABC News and ABC-owned stations; the announcement also addressed direct-to-consumer leadership across Disney+ and Hulu and an ESPN reporting line. These reporting responsibilities describe management, not separate legal ownership.
Disney reported $94.4 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2025 in a 2026 company announcement. That figure gives a sense of the company’s scale, but it does not establish which portfolio names are separate subsidiaries or how they are owned.
