October Prime Day has ended, and the available UK deal coverage does not support the headline claim that these discs were half off. T3’s October 7, 2026 roundup listed seven 4K Blu-rays at discounts of roughly 20%–22%; those are dated prices, not confirmed offers today. If you’re choosing a disc, use the films and their noted picture or sound qualities to narrow the list, then check the current listing and price history before buying.
What the October 2026 prices actually showed
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days ran October 6–7, 2026, and required Prime membership to access event deals, according to Amazon’s event announcement. The event is over. T3’s UK roundup, updated October 7, recorded the following prices and reference prices; they should not be treated as current availability or a live sale.
| 4K Blu-ray | T3-reported UK price | Reference price | Reported saving | What T3 highlights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Batman | £16 | £19.99 | 20% | Dark palette and visual nuance |
| Edge of Tomorrow | £16 | £19.97 | 20% | 4K remaster contrast and detail; Dolby Atmos mix |
| A Complete Unknown | £16 | £19.98 | 20% | Dolby Atmos mix |
| The Shape of Water | £16 | £19.99 | 20% | No specific audiovisual detail noted in the roundup |
| The Greatest Showman | £16 | £19.99 | 20% | Soundtrack and audiovisual presentation |
| The Martian (Extended Edition) | £16 | £19.99 | 20% | HDR regrade |
| Blade Runner 2049 | £19.43 | £24.99 | 22% | A demanding audiovisual showcase |
Prices, reference prices, discount percentages and editorial observations in the table are reported by T3’s UK deal article, updated October 7, 2026. T3’s picture and sound descriptions are its editorial judgments, not independent test results. The listed figures amount to about one-fifth off, not half off.
Which disc might suit you?
For contrast, detail and immersive sound
Edge of Tomorrow is the clearest fit if you’re choosing for a combination of image and audio features: T3 calls out the 4K remaster’s contrast and detail, along with its Dolby Atmos mix. The roundup also notes Dolby Atmos for A Complete Unknown, without making the same image claim.

For a carefully shaped image
T3 singles out The Batman for its dark palette and visual nuance, while it praises the HDR regrade on The Martian (Extended Edition). Its description of Blade Runner 2049 as a demanding audiovisual showcase may appeal if you want a disc chosen for its overall presentation, rather than a specific feature listed in the roundup.
For a soundtrack-led pick
T3 emphasizes the soundtrack and audiovisual presentation of The Greatest Showman. If you’re choosing by film rather than by a particular technical feature, the other titles in the list are The Shape of Water and the remaining picks above; the roundup does not give a specific picture or sound note for The Shape of Water.

How to check whether a current listing is a deal
- Check the product page in your market. Confirm the exact edition, seller, current price, stock and any Prime eligibility. The figures above apply to UK coverage on October 7, 2026; they establish neither current post-event offers nor prices in other countries.
- Compare the price history. Amazon recommends checking product-page price history when assessing an offer. Its FAQ says that history can show up to 365 days of pricing; see Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days FAQ.
- Choose for the film and the presentation you value. Use the notes above as T3’s editorial guidance, not as a guarantee of how the disc will look or sound in every setup.
Playback equipment is a separate decision
T3 recommends a capable playback source and names the Panasonic DP-UB820, as well as the UB9000. That is a related equipment suggestion, not evidence here of either model’s current price, specifications or compatibility with a particular setup. If you already own a 4K Blu-ray player, there is no need to treat a player purchase as part of the disc deal.
