For the week of September 2–8, 2025, Tom’s Guide listed six new movies across Amazon PVOD, Disney Plus, Prime Video, HBO Max and Apple TV Plus. The lineup ranged from broad comedy to crime thrillers, but two entries were buy-or-rent releases—not titles described as included with a streaming subscription.
The six movies and their listed release dates
| Title | Listed date and destination | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| The Naked Gun | September 2, 2025 — Amazon PVOD, buy or rent | A comedy reboot starring Liam Neeson as Lieutenant Frank Drebin Jr. and Pamela Anderson as Beth Davenport. |
| Nobody 2 | September 2, 2025 — Amazon PVOD, buy or rent | Bob Odenkirk returns as Hutch Mansell, whose family vacation turns dangerous after he clashes with a corrupt sheriff and a crime boss. Tom’s Guide listed a 90-minute runtime. |
| Lilo & Stitch | September 3, 2025 — Disney Plus | The 2025 live-action remake is a Hawaii-set science-fiction adventure about Lilo and her alien friend Stitch. Tom’s Guide reported a 92% Rotten Tomatoes audience score on September 2, 2025; that score is a dated snapshot and may have changed. |
| A Working Man | September 3, 2025 — Prime Video | Jason Statham plays Levon Cade, a former black-ops assassin who returns to violence after his boss’s daughter is kidnapped. |
| Friendship | September 5, 2025 — HBO Max | Tim Robinson plays Craig Waterman, who becomes fixated on his new neighbor, played by Paul Rudd. Tom’s Guide characterized the humor as deadpan and cringe-oriented; that is the writer’s assessment. |
| Highest 2 Lowest | September 6, 2025 — Apple TV Plus | Spike Lee’s English-language remake of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 film High and Low stars Denzel Washington as music mogul David King, whose son is kidnapped. |
How to read this release guide
This is a historical schedule from Tom’s Guide’s article published September 2, 2025, not a guide to what is available now. In particular, the Amazon entries for The Naked Gun and Nobody 2 were described as premium video on demand (PVOD) purchases or rentals, not as subscription-streaming inclusions. The other four titles were listed with streaming services.

Which pick fits your mood?
- For broad comedy, consider The Naked Gun.
- For action built around a family vacation gone wrong, try Nobody 2; for a former assassin pulled back into violence, consider A Working Man.
- For family-oriented science fiction, the listed choice is Lilo & Stitch.
- For awkward, deadpan comedy, the guide’s pick is Friendship.
- For a crime story centered on a kidnapping, choose Highest 2 Lowest.
Tom’s Guide called Lilo & Stitch the week’s “clear headliner” as a personal editorial judgment. The same article said it had grossed a ten-figure sum, without supplying an exact total; neither claim is a current measurement of the film’s reception or box office.
