1. Unchosen — Netflix
Netflix’s April 17 viewing guide groups Unchosen with its April 17–23 releases, placing it within this week’s window without establishing a precise debut day. The six-part thriller follows a young mother from a sheltered, fictional conservative religious sect whose life is unsettled when she encounters a stranger. It’s a fit for viewers drawn to closed-community stories and character-led tension. Netflix’s April 17 guide provides the release grouping and premise.
2. Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 — Netflix
This animated series returns to the world of Stranger Things, setting its story in winter 1985, between the second and third seasons of the live-action show. Familiar characters face a new paranormal threat. GamesRadar+ lists 10 episodes dropping April 23 and identifies availability in the US and UK; check your local Netflix catalog for regional availability. It’s the pick for viewers who want a new story in a familiar fictional universe. GamesRadar+’s April 21 roundup supplies the episode and date details.
3. Half Man — HBO Max/BBC
Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell star as Ruben and Niall, whose close relationship over decades turns toxic and violent. The six-part drama is a co-production with the BBC. The available schedule information does not establish an exact local premiere date or confirm availability in every market, so check the HBO Max or BBC listing for your country before planning to watch. GamesRadar+ describes the format, cast, premise and partners in its April 21 streaming roundup.

- Half Man is included as a week-of option, but the information cited here does not establish its precise local premiere date or regional service availability.
- Disney+ lists an episode of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord for April 27, but not for this guide’s five selections. Its April 20 episode falls outside the window. Disney+ also lists Orangutan on April 22 as a film, rather than a TV show. Disney+’s schedule distinguishes those dates and formats.
