For the U.S. weekend of October 9–11, 2026, the strongest new streaming picks include a Steven Spielberg sci-fi thriller, a Netflix crime thriller, and a documentary about Oasis’s 2025 reunion tour. The five selections below are chosen for variety, not ranked as an objective quality list. No equally well-supported new Prime Video feature emerged for this weekend, so this guide focuses on arrivals with clearer date and service information. Streaming availability can vary by country and subscription tier; check your app before settling in.

1. Disclosure Day (Peacock)
If you want a large-scale speculative story, start with Disclosure Day. The film is a Steven Spielberg sci-fi thriller, and it is scheduled to begin streaming on Peacock on October 9. Peacock’s title page describes it as a Peacock-only streaming release; the date and service are also included in the week’s coverage from the Associated Press.
2. Animals (Netflix)
Animals is the crime-thriller pick. Netflix lists it for October 9. Its premise centers on a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife, whose son is kidnapped; their efforts to raise ransom money draw them into deception. Netflix’s new-release listing confirms the date, while Tudum provides the plot setup.
3. The Housemaid (HBO Max)
For a domestic-thriller option, The Housemaid is listed for HBO Max on October 9 in CinemaBlend’s current streaming calendar. The available listing establishes the service and date, but not a fuller synopsis or which subscription plans include the film. Check the HBO Max listing for current details before watching.

The Associated Press describes it as a portrait of music, fandom, and forgiveness; see its October streaming guide for the release context.

Why there isn’t a Prime Video pick
The weekend’s date-specific evidence supports these five arrivals across Peacock, Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Disney+, and Apple TV, but not an equally well-supported new Prime Video feature for October 9–11. Rather than label an existing catalog title “new,” this list sticks to releases with a reported arrival date. For a Prime Video option, check the app’s current New Releases section, since its U.S. catalog can change separately from these arrivals.
