This selection covers five different viewing preferences rather than treating unlike shows and films as one contest: a horror film, a returning teen-romance season, a star-led action comedy, a German reality-dating finale and new anime episodes. The dates and slate reflect the U.S.-focused calendars published at the time; release schedules can change, and availability is not necessarily the same in every territory. Tom’s Guide’s Jan. 13, 2025 roundup and What’s on Netflix’s contemporaneous schedule covered the week. The original Tom’s Guide page included six recommendation sections despite its five-pick headline; this list selects five, leaving out The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
