Which one should you choose?
For a playful comedy: The Mask
Tubi’s synopsis follows a timid bank clerk who finds a mysterious mask and gains cartoonish powers. Its mix of comedy, fantasy and action makes it the broadest, most overtly playful pick here.
For a substantial historical drama: The Help
Set in 1960s Mississippi, the story follows a young white woman interviewing Black domestic workers. Its 2h 27m runtime makes it the longest film on this list. The Black characters’ experiences are central to the story, not merely a backdrop for the white protagonist.

For an adventure with a mystery: Holes
Tubi describes a wrongfully convicted boy sent to a desert camp, where digging leads to buried secrets. It is the list’s PG-rated family-oriented option, but a rating alone cannot determine whether it suits every child or household.
For a long character-led drama-comedy: Forrest Gump
At 2h 23m, it calls for more time than the other choices except The Help. Tubi lists it as both a drama and a comedy, making it a fit when you want a longer story rather than a quick watch.

For a shorter, more intense thriller: 21 Bridges
This 1h 40m action-crime thriller is the shortest film listed, and the only R-rated pick. Its rating and crime-thriller classification make it a distinctly different choice from the family adventure and comedies.
