Michael B. Jordan has the clearest current connection to AFC Bournemouth: the Premier League identifies him as a supporter and reports that he became a minority co-owner in 2022. Four other names—Alex James, Matt Tong, Jayne Middlemiss and Seth Rogen—appear in older media accounts, but the evidence for them is less current and less conclusive.
How strong is the evidence for each name?
These claims do not all rest on the same kind of evidence. The Premier League’s 2026 profile supplies the strongest current association; the other names come mainly from older sports-media roundups that recount a television statement, past fan-forum activity or reported support. Seth Rogen’s inclusion is explicitly questioned by one of those roundups.
| Name | What the sources report | How to read the claim |
|---|---|---|
| Michael B. Jordan | The Premier League describes him as Bournemouth’s most famous supporter, reports that he became a minority co-owner in 2022, and says he helped design a special-edition kit for the club’s 2024 pre-season tour of California. | Strongest current association, though ownership and supporter status are distinct. |
| Alex James | FourFourTwo reports that the Blur musician said on Soccer AM that he supported Bournemouth. | A reported direct statement, relayed by a secondary source rather than an original recording or transcript. |
| Matt Tong | FourFourTwo associates the Bloc Party drummer with the club and says he used to be on the AFCB fan forum. | A reported past connection; this does not establish current activity. |
| Jayne Middlemiss | FourFourTwo says she was reportedly a fan, while questioning how substantial the support was. Football365 also lists her among documented supporters. | A reported association, not independently confirmed here. |
| Seth Rogen | NBC Sports lists him as a Bournemouth celebrity fan, and Football365 repeats a claim traced to Soccer AM. FourFourTwo questions whether he is actually a Cherry. | Disputed or possibly playful; do not treat the listing as confirmation. |
The five names, with the necessary caveats
1. Michael B. Jordan
Jordan stands apart from the older roundup claims. The Premier League’s 16 March 2026 profile calls him Bournemouth’s most famous supporter and reports that he joined the club as a minority co-owner in 2022. It also says he helped design a special-edition AFC Bournemouth kit for the club’s 2024 pre-season tour of California.
In an interview with TST quoted by the Premier League, Jordan explained his interest this way: “I saw a team with a lot of potential and a lot of growth and I love their story.” He also said, “I love the team’s history so it is great to be able to be a part of that new storytelling.” Those comments explain his involvement; they do not establish how long he had supported Bournemouth before becoming an owner.

2. Alex James
FourFourTwo reports that Blur musician Alex James said on Soccer AM that he supported Bournemouth. The claim is attributed to that report; an original programme recording or transcript is not cited there.
3. Matt Tong
FourFourTwo describes Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong as one of the few other names associated with Bournemouth and says he used to be on the AFCB fan forum. That is evidence of a reported historical connection, not proof that he follows the club closely today.

4. Jayne Middlemiss
FourFourTwo calls Middlemiss a reported fan but expresses doubt about the depth of her support. Football365’s 2017 Bournemouth roundup also includes her among documented supporters. Neither account, as presented here, establishes regular attendance or current involvement.
5. Seth Rogen
Rogen is the least secure name on the list. NBC Sports lists him as a Bournemouth celebrity fan, while Football365 repeats a claim associated with Soccer AM. But FourFourTwo directly questions whether Rogen is really a Cherry and suggests he probably is not. His name belongs in a list of supposedly associated celebrities, not a list of confirmed supporters.

What “supporter” means in these accounts
The evidence ranges from a public club role and a league profile to secondhand reports of a television comment or past online activity. None of the cited accounts establishes that all five currently follow Bournemouth closely, attend matches regularly or have supported the club over a long period. The careful distinction is between Jordan’s current public association and older, weaker claims about the other four.
