They offer three distinct draws: a doctor rebuilding her life after memory loss, medicine in a fishing village, and public-health work on a remote island with a romance in the mix. Disney+ lists episodes for all three, though availability varies by country.
Which medical drama fits your mood?
| Show | Best fit | Setting and hook | Disney+ listing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doc | A procedural with a continuing personal mystery | A doctor returns to her professional life after losing eight years of memories | Release period listed as 2025–2026; episodes appear on the catalog page |
| Best Medicine | The lightest option, with comedy alongside medical cases | A blunt, brilliant surgeon becomes a general practitioner in a quaint fishing village | Dated 2026; entries for seasons one and two appear on the catalog page |
| Doctor on the Edge | Romance, public-health work and an isolated community | A doctor is assigned to a remote island and meets a nurse | Dated 2026; 12 season-one episode entries appear on the catalog page |
Doc: a procedural shaped by memory loss
Disney+ describes Dr. Amy Larsen as a doctor whose brain injury erases the previous eight years of her life. She has lost memories of patients, colleagues and her personal life, and must try to continue practicing medicine. That setup gives the series two linked threads: patient-care stories and Amy’s effort to understand the person she has become.
Choose Doc if you like a medical procedural with an ongoing character mystery rather than cases alone. The premise is fictional; it should not be taken as guidance about real-world return-to-work decisions after a brain injury. Disney+ labels the show a drama, medical series and procedural, and lists its release period as 2025–2026. Its page lists episodes, but the displayed season count and episode entries do not agree, so a definitive season total is not established. View the Disney+ listing for Doc.
Best Medicine: village practice with comedy
Best Medicine follows a blunt, brilliant surgeon who becomes a general practitioner in a quaint fishing village. The move from surgery to village practice provides the setting for a medical comedy-drama, with a lighter tone than the personal reinvention at the center of Doc.

Pick it if you want character comedy alongside medical cases. Disney+ dates the series to 2026 and currently displays entries for seasons one and two. That catalog description supports its comedy-drama framing; it does not establish audience ratings or a broader consensus about its quality. View the Disney+ listing for Best Medicine.
Doctor on the Edge: island medicine and romance
In Doctor on the Edge, public-health doctor Do Jiui is assigned to a remote island, where he meets nurse Yuk Hari. Disney+ presents the series as medical drama, comedy and romance, combining medical work with relationships and the rhythms of an isolated community.

This is the pick for viewers drawn to romance and a distinctive setting. Its official premise centers on a remote island and public-health context, not a conventional hospital ensemble. The Disney+ catalog dates it to 2026 and lists 12 first-season episodes. View the Disney+ listing for Doctor on the Edge.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Where to check availability
Disney+ has catalog pages with episode listings for all three shows, but a listing does not guarantee that a title can be played in every country. Check your local Disney+ catalog before choosing what to watch. The pages do not establish Hulu availability for all three, so don’t assume a particular service bundle includes them.

Two other medical shows to consider

- Scrubs revival: Disney+ describes the 2026, 30-minute series as a medical comedy, with returning characters and new interns. It is a nearby choice if you want comedy first rather than a drama-led recommendation. See the Disney+ listing for the Scrubs revival.
