2. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
This prison drama follows an unlikely friendship and the persistence of hope under confinement. Tubi describes it as based on a Stephen King story, making it a strong choice for a character-focused drama rather than a crime-family saga.
Tubi lists a 2 hr 23 min runtime and an R rating. Check The Shawshank Redemption’s Tubi listing before you settle in.

3. Forrest Gump (1994)
For a lighter contrast, Tubi’s catalog includes this historical drama/comedy about an ordinary man whose life intersects with major events. It blends drama and humor, rather than the sustained tension of the other two picks.
Tubi’s catalog lists the film as 2 hr 23 min and PG-13, and its Modern Classics category includes the title. Look for Forrest Gump in Tubi’s movie catalog to confirm that it is available in your region.

Tubi’s cited device information applies to the United States. The service supports a range of platforms, including smart TVs, streaming devices, phones and tablets, consoles, and web browsers; Fire TV/Stick is one option, not a requirement.
