The list is a dated selection, not a complete filmography or a permanent live ranking; Rotten Tomatoes’ profile already shows a different score for Winter’s Bone.
How to read this ranking
The figures below reproduce the order and percentages in Alex Vo’s Rotten Tomatoes guide, published November 6, 2025. They are Tomatometer percentages: the share of counted critics’ reviews that are positive, not grades of artistic merit, audience ratings, or a measure of Lawrence’s performance by itself. Rotten Tomatoes’ guide does not provide review counts alongside the figures, and its displayed order is not perfectly descending in every adjacent position. The titles therefore remain in the guide’s published order rather than being silently rearranged.

What stands out in the top tier
Winter’s Bone takes the lead
At 94%, Debra Granik’s Winter’s Bone is the guide’s highest-ranked entry. The film marked a major early role for Lawrence, who received a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her performance. That nomination and the Tomatometer score describe different kinds of recognition: one is an Academy Award nomination, while the other summarizes the proportion of positive critic reviews recorded for the film.
#1 Best Overall
A strong run across drama, comedy, and franchises
The next four positions span crime drama, romantic comedy-drama, superhero science fiction, and young-adult dystopia: American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook are tied at 92%, followed by X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire at 90% each. The spread shows that the upper tier is not limited to one genre or kind of production.
Franchise scores vary from film to film
The guide includes four Hunger Games films, from 70% to 90%, and four X-Men entries, from 22% to 90%. A franchise label alone does not predict a film’s placement: individual installments have markedly different Tomatometer figures. These scores belong to the films as a whole and should not be read as a verdict on Lawrence’s acting alone.
Rank #2
What the lower scores do—and do not—say
The bottom five in the guide are Garden Party (16%), Serena (17%), Dark Phoenix (22%), Passengers (30%), and The Burning Plain (38%). A low Tomatometer means a smaller share of counted critics’ reviews was positive; it does not establish that every part of a film, or Lawrence’s contribution in particular, was poorly received. Rotten Tomatoes’ consensus summaries can address story, direction, and broader filmmaking as well as performances, so a film-level score should not be converted into an actor-specific rating.
This is a selected list, not every Lawrence film credit
Rotten Tomatoes’ Jennifer Lawrence profile includes credits outside these 25 titles, among them A Beautiful Planet, House at the End of the Street, and The Devil You Know. The profile also distinguishes roles such as actor, producer, and narrator and includes a film collection among its entries. “25 movies” is therefore an accurate description of the guide’s selection, not a claim that it covers every screen, voice, or production credit.

Why the numbers need a date
Tomatometer figures can change as reviews are added or a page is updated. The Rotten Tomatoes profile’s highest-rated section displays Winter’s Bone at 76%, rather than the 94% shown in the November 2025 guide. The guide’s dated number and the profile’s live display should not be blended into one supposedly current ranking. For a present-day comparison, check each film’s Rotten Tomatoes page and note the date of the figures used.
