Who led the nominations, and who won?
Ninajirachi led the nominations with eight and converted that lead into three wins: Best Solo Artist, Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist and Best Independent Release. Dom Dolla had seven nominations; Amyl and The Sniffers had six. Hilltop Hoods and Thelma Plum each had five, while Folk Bitch Trio, Missy Higgins, Royel Otis and RÜFÜS DU SOL each had four, according to ARIA’s nominations announcement.
Nomination totals are not a forecast of wins: Dom Dolla’s seven nominations, for example, resulted in the listed Best Dance / Electronic Release win for “DREAMIN’.” Amyl and The Sniffers’ three awards included Album of the Year, Best Rock Album and Best Group.

How were the awards decided?
The categories did not all use the same selection method. ARIA’s 2025 eligibility document distinguishes Voting Academy decisions, genre or specialist judging schools, and public-vote categories. Five awards were publicly voted in 2025; the public-voting method could be set by ARIA each year.
For Song of the Year, the nominee pool came from eligible singles and was based on the ten highest-selling qualifying singles, using ARIA chart sales statistics for charts published from 27 August 2024 through 25 August 2025. That category-specific rule is not a description of how every ARIA winner was chosen.
