WWE says his WWE winning streak ended against Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania III. That is WWE’s account of his record within WWE, not a claim about every match or promotion in his career. WWE records that André died in Paris on January 28, 1993, and says: “One year after his passing, Andre was honored by his peers as the first inductee in the newly founded WWE Hall of Fame.”
