The available evidence does not verify a complete list of 15 women who acted nude in 2016. It does establish one clear screen example: Emilia Clarke in Game of Thrones. Other frequently adjacent stories concern a magazine cover, an earlier performance, or red-carpet fashion—not a 2016 acting role.
What counts as acting nude in 2016?
For this topic, an entry should be a nude appearance in a performance as part of an acting role during 2016. A nude photo shoot, revealing event outfit, or work from a different year does not meet that standard. The phrase “birthday suit” is sometimes used figuratively, so the nature and date of an appearance matter.
The confirmed 2016 screen example
Emilia Clarke in Game of Thrones
In a May 24, 2016 report, SELF said Clarke appeared nude as Daenerys in an episode from the series’ sixth season and chose not to use a body double. The body-double detail is SELF’s reporting; it should not be treated as an independently verified production record.
Why nearby examples do not complete the list
Lea Michele: a magazine cover, not an acting role
A September 26, 2016 Fox News report discussed Michele posing nude for the September cover of Women’s Health UK. It also referred to her earlier nudity in Spring Awakening. Neither detail establishes a nude acting appearance by Michele in a 2016 role.

Oscar-party outfits: fashion, not performance
Entertainment Tonight’s February 29, 2016 coverage described sheer or revealing dresses at Oscar-night parties. These were event outfits, not acting performances; “birthday suit” in this context is figurative.
Rachel Bilson: an earlier film
A retrospective WhatCulture article published November 17, 2016 discussed Bilson’s reluctance about nudity in the earlier film The Last Kiss, attributing a statement to a Playboy interview. That secondary account concerns an earlier work, not a 2016 acting role, and does not establish the original interview’s date or context.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can the full roster of 15 be confirmed?
No. The exact-title search did not locate a verifiable originating article or complete roster, and the reviewed reporting supports only the distinctions above. It would be misleading to fill out a list of 15 by counting photo shoots, sheer outfits, or performances from other years. The evidence supports Clarke as a 2016 screen example, but does not establish that these are the only qualifying performances.
