Yes—but only under a careful definition of “defeat.” Saitama is extraordinarily difficult to beat with punches, energy blasts, or ordinary durability-scaling. The characters below qualify because they have a different kind of win condition: erasing universes, rewriting reality, manipulating causality or possible futures, attacking the source of a being’s existence, or operating on a scale far beyond the normal physical setting of One-Punch Man.
This is not an official cross-franchise fact. Anime and manga universes do not share a single power hierarchy, so “definitely” means that the character has a demonstrated ability that Saitama has not been shown to resist. Saitama is treated as his strongest established version in the currently available One-Punch Man anime and manga material—not as an omnipotent character. Even the official anime description’s claim that he gained “invincible power” is promotional character framing, not proof that he is immune to temporal, conceptual, metaphysical, or narrative attacks. The official anime site describes Saitama’s premise here.

What counts as a definite victory over Saitama?
Saitama’s greatest established advantages are physical strength, speed, durability, stamina, and a remarkable ability to grow during extreme battles. Those feats make him a terrible opponent for conventional fighters. They do not automatically demonstrate resistance to every kind of supernatural effect.

- It can be used as a gift
For this list, a character qualifies if their strongest relevant version has a credible route to one of four outcomes:
- Existence erasure: removing Saitama, his universe, or the timeline containing him.
- Reality or system rewriting: changing the rules of the setting instead of damaging Saitama’s body.
- Causality, future, or source manipulation: preventing his successful action, selecting a future in which he loses, or attacking the fundamental source of his existence.
- Overwhelming cosmic scale: trapping or attacking an opponent in a setting where ordinary planetary comparisons no longer describe the fight.
The matchup assumes a neutral crossover: both characters retain their signature abilities, neither is automatically immune to the other’s power, and the fight is not restricted to a boxing match. It does not assume that every fictional ability works identically across universes. That distinction is why several entries have explicit version limits or canon caveats.

| Giorno Giovanna | Giorno with Gold Experience Requiem | Return to Zero denies a successful result |
| Kami Tenchi | Higher-dimensional anime/franchise interpretation | Existence and dimensional hierarchy |
This is an ordered list for clarity, not a precise power ladder. Zeno is the cleanest erasure case; Whis and Beerus are the strongest conventional Dragon Ball cases; the middle of the list relies on different kinds of hax; and Featherine and Kami Tenchi require the broadest canon assumptions.
1. Zeno — Dragon Ball Super
Zeno is the clearest answer because he does not need to outpunch Saitama. The official Dragon Ball site places Zeno at the top of all twelve universes and states that he can erase an entire universe instantly. It also recounts his erasure of Zamasu and the entirety of Trunks’ future timeline. The official recap describes Zeno’s universe- and timeline-erasure power.
Recommended Free Tools
That is a direct existence-level win condition. Saitama has impressive resistance to physical force, but no established feat shows him surviving the removal of his universe or timeline. His speed would matter only if he could prevent Zeno from acting before the erasure occurs.
Caveat: Zeno is not being presented as the best hand-to-hand fighter. Personality, surprise attacks, and unusual crossover rules could change the opening moment. Under a standard encounter in which Zeno can use his defining authority, however, Saitama has no demonstrated answer.
2. Whis — Dragon Ball Super
Whis is a more conventional combatant than Zeno, but his position in the hierarchy is exceptional. The official character profile identifies him as Beerus’ martial-arts master and says that he subdued Beerus with a single karate chop. The official Whis showcase establishes that relationship and feat.
The significance is not simply that Whis is “stronger than Goku.” Whis trains and controls a God of Destruction whose destructive authority reaches well beyond ordinary planetary combat. Whis also possesses the speed, skill, and composure to make it difficult for Saitama to force the fight into a favorable exchange of punches.
Caveat: Whis is a less automatic pick than Zeno because the argument relies heavily on Dragon Ball’s divine scaling and combat portrayal rather than a plainly demonstrated erasure attack used directly by Whis. If the matchup bans cross-series scaling and accepts only identical on-screen techniques, he becomes debatable; under normal Dragon Ball Super scaling, he qualifies.
3. Beerus — Dragon Ball Super
Beerus has two relevant advantages: overwhelming combat portrayal and destruction authority. The official site describes him as a God of Destruction who can turn beings and entire planets to dust, and it records him swiftly defeating Super Saiyan 3 Goku. The official Beerus profile covers his role and his defeat of Super Saiyan 3 Goku.
Beerus does not have to win a conventional durability contest. His destruction technique provides a route that targets the continued existence of the opponent rather than merely producing a bigger impact. Saitama has never been shown resisting that kind of divine destruction effect.
Rank #2
Caveat: “Beerus can destroy a planet” is not, by itself, enough to prove victory over Saitama. The case depends on the combination of Beerus’ combat level and his destruction authority. It also should not be inflated into a claim that every use of the technique automatically defeats every fictional character.

4. Ultimate Madoka — Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Ultimate Madoka, often understood through the Law of Cycles, is not an ordinary human combatant with a stronger energy blast. The climax of the anime transforms Madoka’s wish into a cosmic force that changes the operating rules of the magical-girl system and reaches across time. Aniplex’s official story material establishes the series’ time-spanning structure and Madoka’s central wish.
Her advantage is system-level rewriting. Rather than trying to break Saitama’s body, she can alter the metaphysical conditions under which suffering, transformation, and magical-girl existence operate. Physical durability does not automatically protect someone from a being who changes the relevant rules of reality.
Caveat: This is a crossover application of Madoka’s power. The anime’s system is primarily concerned with magical girls, witches, and the cycle of despair; it does not provide a laboratory test involving an unrelated alien hero. Her inclusion is definite under the neutral-crossover assumption, but not a claim that the Law of Cycles has explicitly defeated Saitama in canon.
5. Sailor Moon — Sailor Moon Crystal / Sailor Moon Eternal
Use Sailor Moon at her strongest relevant anime interpretation, not early-season Usagi without the Silver Crystal. VIZ presents the Silver Crystal as the only power capable of defeating Queen Metalia and protecting the world from an ancient evil. The Eternal-era portrayal likewise centers the Legendary Silver Crystal as a crucial cosmic object. VIZ’s official episode material describes the Silver Crystal’s central role.

If the Crystal can affect Saitama as an invading or corrupted force within the crossover’s rules, she can win without proving that her punches are stronger than his.
Caveat: Do not turn this into a claim that every version of Usagi defeats Saitama instantly. The relevant version is the strongest Crystal or Eternal interpretation, and the exact interaction between the Silver Crystal and a cross-universe being remains an assumption rather than an established fact.
6. Haruhi Suzumiya — The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Haruhi’s power is reality alteration, and one of the unsettling details is that she usually does not understand or consciously control its full extent. Crunchyroll describes her as controlling time, space, and the people occupying them, while also characterizing her abilities as reality-bending. Crunchyroll’s guide explains Haruhi’s reality-bending premise.
That gives Haruhi a route to victory that bypasses Saitama’s physical defenses. She could theoretically rewrite the conditions of the encounter, remove the possibility of his victory, or place the fight in a reality with different rules before he ever lands a meaningful punch.

She is not a disciplined cosmic fighter who reliably selects an attack on command. This is therefore a hax-based “definitely,” not a conventional battleboarding result. If the rules require conscious activation and a formal duel, her placement becomes much less secure.
7. The Anti-Spiral — Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
The Anti-Spiral operates at a scale where ordinary planetary comparisons stop being useful. Official Aniplex material identifies the Anti-Spiral as one of the central opposing forces in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. The anime’s climax involves a multiverse labyrinth, universe-level stakes, and a battle against Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Aniplex’s release material identifies the central conflict and its cosmic escalation.

The Anti-Spiral’s best route is not to stand still and absorb a serious punch. It can trap opponents in a reality-manipulating labyrinth and attack through mechanisms that make the normal physical environment irrelevant. Saitama’s strength is extraordinary within his setting, but the Anti-Spiral’s endgame battlefield is built around a far more expansive scale of reality manipulation.
Caveat: Avoid invented numerical claims about infinite dimensions, exact multiversal joules, or unsupported speed figures. The argument comes from what the anime depicts—its labyrinth, setting, and final battle—not from a precise official power-level chart.

Simon qualifies only in his final, fully escalated state with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Simon as an ordinary human, or Simon in an early-series machine, is not the character meant here. The final battle places Simon and his machine against the Anti-Spiral in a conflict fought at extraordinary cosmic scale; Aniplex’s official material identifies both as central opposing forces. The official release document provides the relevant franchise context.
This is a scale-and-energy argument. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is designed for an endgame confrontation whose setting and weapon effects dwarf the normal physical environment in which Saitama fights. Simon’s Spiral Power also gives the machine a route to keep escalating rather than treating the opening punch as the entire contest.
Important distinction: Simon himself is not automatically as durable as his machine. The qualifying entry is “Simon piloting his final endgame form,” not a bare-handed fight between an ordinary human and Saitama.
9. Anos Voldigoad — The Misfit of Demon King Academy
Anos has several routes that do not depend on ordinary durability. His magic can target sources, resurrect or destroy supernatural beings, and affect existence in ways that are not reducible to physical impact. Crunchyroll’s official series description identifies him as a Demon King who eradicated humans, spirits, and gods before reincarnating two thousand years later. Crunchyroll’s series material establishes Anos’ role and history.
The relevant matchup argument is that Anos can attack the source or supernatural foundation of a being rather than attempting to overpower Saitama’s muscles. That gives him a plausible permanent-death or incapacitation route even if Saitama would win a straightforward physical exchange.
Version warning: This entry should use the anime portrayal unless it explicitly says otherwise. Later light-novel material reaches a much higher ceiling and should not be quietly imported into an anime-only comparison. Yen Press’ later volume description shows how the wider story escalates toward creation-goddess-level conflicts, but that is not a license to treat every novel feat as animated canon. The publisher’s material illustrates the distinction between the broader source and the animated portrayal.
10. Rimuru Tempest — That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Rimuru’s strongest established anime-continuity version combines regeneration, absorption, analysis, barriers, and abilities that can affect souls or other nonphysical targets. Yen Press identifies Rimuru as the demon lord and founder of Tempest in its official series material, while Crunchyroll is a documented home for the anime’s continuing adaptation. Yen Press provides the official series context.
Rimuru does not need to prove that he can survive every punch forever. His layered defenses can buy time for analysis, while absorption and nonphysical effects create routes to incapacitation that a physical durability feat does not automatically negate. The fight becomes a contest between Saitama’s explosive physical offense and Rimuru’s ability to process, defend against, and neutralize threats through several systems at once.

Version warning: This is an anime-continuity argument. The light novels eventually establish abilities and power ceilings that go beyond what the anime has shown. Those endgame feats should not be presented as though they already occurred on screen.

11. Yogiri Takatou — My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered
Yogiri is a direct counter in concept because his signature ability is framed as instant death rather than damage. The official promotional premise describes him ending enemies simply by thinking about it, and the property’s official catalog identifies the anime and manga franchise. The J-Novel Club catalog provides the official publication context.
Saitama may be able to survive an enormous impact, but that does not establish resistance to Yogiri’s death authority. The burden is on Saitama to demonstrate that he can resist the ability—not merely that he can survive being punched, vaporized, or crushed.
Version warning: Use the anime portrayal for an anime-character list unless the article clearly labels novel extensions. The full cosmological implications of Yogiri’s ability are treated differently across the source material and adaptations, so claims of absolute omnipotence should be avoided.
12. Featherine Augustus Aurora — Umineko When They Cry
Featherine is the most canon-sensitive entry on the list. Under a broad Umineko reading, she is treated as a witch-level observer or controller of story worlds rather than as a physical combatant. Her advantage is meta-narrative: she can operate at a level where the events of a battle are treated as a story or game board, not merely as objects colliding in space.
That kind of authority could defeat Saitama by rewriting the relevant scenario, removing his victory condition, or controlling the layer of reality in which the confrontation is being observed. A stronger punch does not answer an opponent whose ability is framed around the structure of the story itself.
Major caveat: Featherine is a conditional pick if the editorial rule is strictly “characters whose relevant abilities are fully demonstrated in anime episodes.” The Umineko anime does not reproduce the entire visual-novel cosmology, and much of Featherine’s reputation depends on broader franchise canon. Under a strict anime-only standard, replace her with a less controversial cosmic character rather than treating incomplete adaptation evidence as settled fact.
13. Yhwach — Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War
Yhwach’s strongest route is The Almighty, which concerns possible futures rather than simple physical force. In his strongest Thousand-Year Blood War state, he can perceive and alter future outcomes, making it possible to prevent an attack from reaching a successful result or select a future in which Saitama loses. VIZ’s official Bleach page explicitly describes Yhwach as having surpassed even his own ability, The Almighty. VIZ’s official Bleach page provides the relevant character context.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThis is not a claim of unlimited omniscience. The Almighty has circumstances, interpretation questions, and story-specific limitations. It is enough for this matchup because future selection and power negation create a win condition that does not require Yhwach to be physically tougher than Saitama.
Version restriction: The qualifying version is the late-war Yhwach with The Almighty, not an earlier incarnation of the character. If The Almighty is removed, the argument becomes a much more ordinary—and much less certain—durability and speed comparison.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.14. Giorno Giovanna — JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind
Giorno qualifies only with Gold Experience Requiem. GER’s defining ability, commonly described as “Return to Zero,” denies the connection between an action and its successful result. In the anime’s final confrontation, the ability prevents an opponent’s intended victory from becoming reality; that is a causality-denial argument, not a claim that Giorno can withstand Saitama in a fistfight. VIZ’s official franchise information confirms the licensed JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime property. VIZ’s official copyright and franchise page is available here.
If Saitama throws a punch, GER’s relevance is not whether the punch is powerful enough. The question is whether the punch is allowed to arrive at the successful outcome. Under the usual reading of GER, the attack or intended victory can be nullified before it produces that result.

- Heroes and villains would be battling it out everywhere! Being a hero would mean learning to use your power, but where would you go to study
Caveat: GER’s exact mechanics are heavily debated, and the anime does not provide a universal power chart. This entry should never be phrased as “Giorno is physically stronger than Saitama.” Giorno wins only through the specific causality-denial function of GER.
15. Kami Tenchi — Tenchi Muyo!
Kami Tenchi is the broad-canon, cosmological choice. The entry depends on accepting the higher-dimensional deity portrayal associated with the Tenchi Muyo! anime franchise rather than restricting the comparison to the ordinary cast and mechanics of Ryo-Ohki.
His advantage is existence and dimensional hierarchy. A being positioned above the relevant dimensional structure does not need superior hand-to-hand technique; the matchup is decided by the level of reality at which the character exists and acts.
Major caveat: Tenchi Muyo! has a complicated continuity, and claims about Kami Tenchi often blend anime episodes with supplemental franchise material. A strict anime-only article should identify the exact episodes or films being used—or omit this entry. It is included here as a conditional broad-franchise anime pick, not as an invitation to repeat unsupported “infinite-dimensional” labels.

Many characters are powerful enough to make an entertaining Saitama debate without meeting the standard used here. Goku, Jiren, Broly, Naruto, Ichigo, Gojo, Aizen, Accelerator, and most ordinary “planet busters” primarily invite comparisons of speed, strength, energy output, or durability. Those comparisons may support an argument, but they do not by themselves prove that the character can bypass Saitama’s physical defenses.
The same caution applies to Saitama’s own opponents. A character who challenges Saitama in One-Punch Man is not automatically scaled to every supernatural ability in another franchise. Crossovers need an explicit mechanism: erasure, causality control, reality rewriting, source destruction, or a clearly demonstrated level of existence that makes the physical comparison irrelevant.
Source material and strongest-form guide
These arguments are best checked against the source material, not just power-scaling clips. If you want a physical reference, start with the One-Punch Man manga and the relevant Madoka Magica Blu-ray; a Sailor Moon Silver Crystal figure is a collectible rather than evidence for the matchup. Availability and editions vary by region.
Most debatable picks
The least controversial entries are Zeno, Beerus, and the final forms of the Gurren Lagann characters, because their stories provide unusually clear evidence of erasure, divine destruction, or cosmic-scale conflict. Madoka, Haruhi, Yhwach, Giorno, Yogiri, Anos, and Rimuru are strong for a different reason: their abilities attack systems, sources, souls, futures, or outcomes rather than just bodies.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Featherine and Kami Tenchi require the most careful wording. If the rules are strictly limited to what an anime adaptation fully depicts, their broader cosmological reputations should not be treated as uncontested evidence. The honest conclusion is not that Saitama is secretly weak; it is that physical invulnerability and metaphysical invulnerability are different claims.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Saitama omnipotent?
No. Saitama is overwhelmingly powerful within the established physical and comedic framework of One-Punch Man, but no canon evidence proves that he resists every form of erasure, reality manipulation, future alteration, conceptual death, or narrative control.
Can Zeno defeat Saitama without fighting him?
Under the standard crossover assumption, yes. Zeno’s defining ability is instant erasure of universes and timelines, so he does not need to win a conventional exchange of punches. The result still assumes Zeno is allowed to act and that the crossover does not grant Saitama an unsupported resistance to erasure.
Which characters on the list are anime-only versions?
The intended versions are Ultimate Madoka, Eternal or strongest Crystal-era Sailor Moon, late-series Haruhi, the Anti-Spiral, Simon with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, anime-continuity Anos, anime-continuity Rimuru, anime Yogiri, late-war Yhwach, and Giorno with Gold Experience Requiem. Featherine and Kami Tenchi require broader or more complicated canon assumptions.
Would Goku definitely beat Saitama?
Not under the standard used here. Goku may be argued above Saitama through speed and power scaling, but raw output alone does not establish a bypass of Saitama’s durability. That makes Goku a debatable matchup rather than a definite pick for this particular list.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Saitama is extremely difficult to defeat through physical force, but he has not been shown to be immune to every kind of supernatural or metaphysical ability. Zeno’s erasure is the cleanest answer; Beerus, Whis, the final Gurren Lagann forms, and several reality-, source-, future-, and causality-based characters also have credible decisive routes. The further the argument moves into Featherine and Kami Tenchi’s broader cosmologies, the more important the canon caveat becomes.
