TNA’s LAX was not one unchanging team. The name began with a Konnan-led faction in 2005, became closely identified with Homicide and Hernandez, returned in 2017 with Santana and Ortiz, and later appeared in a different incarnation as LAX 5150. Keeping those lineups distinct makes the group’s history—and its championship record—easier to follow.
1. LAX began after the 4Live Kru story broke apart
LAX debuted on TNA television on December 31, 2005, following the split in Konnan’s 4Live Kru storyline. The debut angle had Konnan orchestrate an ambush involving Apolo and Homicide, with Bullet Bob Armstrong as the target. In the storyline, LAX was presented as a faction pushing back against perceived favoritism and mistreatment; that was the angle’s framing, not an objective claim about the promotion.
2. The original faction was larger than its best-known tag team
The original core was Konnan, Homicide, and Hernandez, but the early membership also included Apolo and Machete. Homicide and Hernandez eventually became the pairing most fans associate with LAX, which is why the faction’s broader early lineup is sometimes overlooked.
3. Homicide and Hernandez became LAX’s signature tag team
Hernandez joined Homicide in the tag division in 2006. Their rivalry with A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels led to the pair’s first NWA World Tag Team Championship victory. The team’s success gave LAX a prominent identity beyond Konnan’s faction storylines.

4. The team won two NWA tag titles and one TNA tag title
Homicide and Hernandez won the NWA World Tag Team Championship twice during 2006–07. LAX also won the vacant TNA World Tag Team Championship in 2008, for one reign with that title. Those are separate championship records, not one continuous title lineage.
5. Homicide had a singles title run, too
In 2009, Homicide won the TNA X Division Championship, adding a singles accomplishment to LAX’s tag-team record. His title win came in the later stretch of the Homicide–Hernandez partnership, which ended that year.

6. The original Homicide–Hernandez partnership ended in 2009
LAX’s story continued through changing alignments and title programs from 2007 to 2009, but Homicide and Hernandez did not remain a permanent team. By the end of 2009, their partnership had ended, closing the best-known phase of the original TNA incarnation.
7. Impact revived LAX in 2017 with Santana and Ortiz
Impact brought back the LAX identity in 2017 around Santana and Ortiz. Konnan, Homicide, and Diamante were also part of this incarnation, linking the revival to the earlier faction while giving the name a new central tag team.

8. Santana and Ortiz built their own championship record
Santana and Ortiz held the Impact World Tag Team Championship and the GFW Tag Team Championship during their run. These accomplishments belong to their team and should not be folded into Homicide and Hernandez’s earlier TNA title totals.
9. Santana and Ortiz left Impact in 2019
The Santana–Ortiz LAX run ended when the pair departed Impact in 2019. That departure marked the end of this version of the faction in the promotion; it did not mean every later use of the LAX name had the same roster.

10. LAX 5150 was a different incarnation
In 2021, Konnan introduced LAX 5150 at MLW’s Battle Riot III. The later group was associated with MLW and had a different lineup from both the original TNA stable and the Santana–Ortiz revival. Treat LAX 5150 as a separate chapter, not a continuation of the same team roster.
