Victoria, the WWE ring name of Lisa Marie Varon, became a two-time Women’s Champion through a path that began outside wrestling and a main-roster run built on intense character work and hard-hitting matches. Here are 10 milestones that explain how she arrived, what defined her WWE career, and where that run ended.
1. Victoria was Lisa Marie Varon
Before wrestling, Varon competed in fitness competitions and worked as a model. WWE’s “Where Are They Now?: Victoria” retrospective traces how those pursuits led her toward professional wrestling.
2. She had only 28 days to prepare for a ring test
Varon said WWE gave her 28 days before it wanted to see her in a ring. She reached out to Ultimate Pro Wrestling and began training there, while recognizing that a few weeks could not substitute for a full wrestling education: “Of course, you can’t learn how to wrestle in 28 days.” The retrospective attributes that recollection to Varon.
3. Her WWE arrival preceded the Victoria character
Varon joined WWE in 2000, initially appearing as part of the Godfather’s entourage before moving through Ohio Valley Wrestling. The WWE profile dates Victoria’s main-roster debut to July 2002, marking a distinct step from her earlier appearances and developmental work.

4. Trish Stratus was her first major WWE rival
Victoria’s main-roster arrival put her in opposition to reigning Women’s Champion Trish Stratus. Their rivalry built to a title match at Survivor Series 2002, giving Victoria an immediate high-profile storyline and a clear route into the division’s championship picture.
5. Her first Women’s Championship came in a Hardcore Match
At Survivor Series 2002, Victoria defeated Stratus in a Hardcore Match to win her first Women’s Championship. WWE recounts a match built around weapons, including chairs and a garbage can, before Victoria finished Stratus with a suplex. In the retrospective, Varon recalled the physical cost: “I broke my nose and chipped my tooth.”

7. The Widow’s Peak became her signature
WWE identifies the Widow’s Peak as Victoria’s signature move and a defining part of her character. It gave her an unmistakable finishing image in the ring, complementing a persona built around menace and physical confrontation.

On Raw Roulette, November 24, 2003, Victoria faced Lita in a steel cage match. WWE calls it the only Divas Steel Cage Match in WWE history. That distinction is specific to WWE’s description; it should not be broadened into a claim about all women’s wrestling or other promotions.
9. Her second title run included a WrestleMania XX moment
