The locations below are identified in the current guide from Mystic Falls Tours. A filming location is not necessarily open to visitors: several are private homes or gated properties, and access arrangements may change.

1. Mystic Falls Town Square
Covington’s town square served as a recurring exterior setting throughout all eight seasons, according to the tour operator. The clock tower, courthouse and surrounding storefronts help create the familiar Mystic Falls streetscape. The square is the most straightforward starting point for a self-guided visit.

2. Mystic Grill
The Mystic Grill is a real restaurant on the square, inspired by the show’s hangout. The tour operator says the series used its exterior rather than filming inside the restaurant. Georgia’s tourism office describes it as a place to eat, with a rooftop overlooking the square: Mystic Grill on Explore Georgia.
3. Gilbert House
The house associated with Elena and Jeremy is a private residence. The tour operator says visitors view it from the street and that the show’s interior scenes were filmed on a stage. Do not enter the property or approach residents.

4. Lockwood Mansion
The mansion is associated with the Masquerade Ball and Miss Mystic Falls pageant. It is private, gated property; Explore Georgia says Mystic Falls Tours has access to the home. That does not establish that access is available on every tour or date, so confirm current availability and terms with the operator before booking.
5. Caroline Forbes’ House
This private home is included on the tour route and is viewed from the street. Treat it as a residence, not a visitor attraction: remain on public access routes and avoid disturbing occupants.

6. Donovan House
Matt and Vicki’s home is another private filming location identified by the tour operator. It is viewed from the tour route; visitors should not enter the property.
7. Grams’ House
Bonnie’s grandmother’s house is a private residence that the operator describes as a street-view stop. Keep to public areas and respect the household’s privacy.
8. Isobel’s House
The operator identifies this private home as the house of Elena’s birth mother, used in season 2. Unless access is explicitly granted, view it only from the street.
9. The Witch House
This location was used in seasons 2 through 4, both inside and outside, according to the tour operator. It appears in the operator’s exclusive-location list, so do not assume independent access; ask the tour provider what access, if any, is included on your chosen date.

10. Rain Kiss Spot
This park location supplied an exterior in season 6, episode 7. The tour operator associates it with the scene described as “Promise me this is forever.” Check current directions and access before setting out, since routes and arrangements can change.

Not as the original mansion. The season-one exterior was Glenridge Hall in Sandy Springs, which was demolished in 2015. Later seasons used a studio set, according to the tour operator’s location guide. There is no boarding-house mansion at Glenridge Hall for fans to visit.

The tour operator estimates that downtown locations can be seen in an afternoon; treat that as its planning estimate, not a guaranteed itinerary. Allow extra time for meals, travel between stops and any schedule changes. Respecting residents and confirming access
- Private houses are not public attractions. View them from the street unless a tour provider explicitly confirms authorized access.
- Do not enter yards, gated property or buildings, and do not photograph or approach residents in ways that intrude on their privacy.
- Check directly with tour providers for current access, schedule, walking conditions and booking requirements. A location’s appearance in the show does not mean it is open to the public.
Mystic Falls Tours’ location page attributes this comment to Ian Somerhalder, identifying him there as Damon Salvatore: “Jessica, with her Mystic Falls Tours, you know, really has allowed a lot of people to experience the sets and the feeling of what Mystic Falls is, and it’s incredible, and it’s been a lot of fun.”
