If you’ve finished Severance Season 2, the best next show depends on what you want more of: a mystery that keeps widening, unsettling technology, workplace power games, or an uncanny world where reality may not be what it seems. There’s no exact replacement for Severance, but these ten series each match a different part of its appeal.
For a mystery that keeps unfolding
Lost
Choose Lost if you want a large, character-centered puzzle in which every answer can open another question. Its layered mysteries and gradual reveals make it a natural pick for viewers who enjoy piecing together a bigger design. TV Guide points to it as a model of the “mystery box” structure associated with Severance (TV Guide).

Fringe
Fringe begins with a procedural rhythm and expands into questions of identity, doubles, and parallel realities. It suits viewers who like a show to offer cases along the way while building toward a stranger, more serialized story. TV Guide highlights its overlap with Severance in its interest in identity and alternate realities (TV Guide).
Counterpart
In Counterpart, an ordinary bureaucrat discovers that the agency where he works guards a crossing to a parallel dimension. That setup turns desk-bound routine into espionage, with doppelgängers and questions about how different lives can emerge from similar beginnings. It is a particularly good fit if you want institutional secrecy and workplace routine woven into a sustained science-fiction mystery (TV Guide; JustWatch Guides US; Metacritic).

For technology, memory, and identity
Black Mirror
Black Mirror is an anthology: its stories stand alone rather than continuing one central plot. That makes it a different kind of follow-up to Severance, but a strong one if you want unsettling speculation about technology and human behavior. TV Guide singles out stories involving recorded memories and digital replicas as especially adjacent to Severance’s concerns (TV Guide; Rotten Tomatoes Editorial).
Homecoming
Homecoming centers on a veterans’ transition facility and the unsettling questions surrounding memory, identity, and manipulation. Its institutional mystery is a closer match for Severance than a broad technology anthology: the tension comes from trying to understand what an organization is doing to the people in its care (Rotten Tomatoes Editorial; JustWatch Guides US).
Rank #2
Devs
Devs starts when an engineer investigates her employer’s secretive division after her boyfriend’s death. The technology-company setting and controlled flow of information make it a good choice if the mystery behind a powerful organization is what you want next. It leans into speculative science rather than office satire (JustWatch Guides US).
Westworld
Westworld takes a wider dystopian science-fiction approach, built around humanoid hosts and the humans who control them. Watch it for stories about manufactured identity and power, rather than for the close office setting of Severance. JustWatch’s US guide lists Blu-ray and DVD purchase formats, but that listing is not a guarantee of current retailer stock or availability in other countries (Rotten Tomatoes Editorial; JustWatch Guides US).

For workplace power and institutional control
Corporate
If the bleak humor of Lumon’s office is what you miss, try Corporate. It is the closest workplace-satire match in this group, following employees caught inside a toxic corporation. Its key difference is that it uses dark comedy rather than Severance’s science-fiction premise (Rotten Tomatoes Editorial).
Homecoming and Counterpart
These two picks approach institutional power from different directions. Homecoming focuses on a facility and the people whose memories and identities may be manipulated; Counterpart puts secrecy inside a bureaucratic agency. Both are worth considering if the unsettling rules of an organization matter more to you than office comedy.
Rank #4
For isolated settings or a surreal shift
Silo
Silo is a fit if you want a closed, isolated world, authority figures whose motives invite suspicion, and characters questioning whether their understanding of reality is true. Its setting differs from Lumon’s office, but it shares the appeal of watching people test the boundaries of a system they have been taught to accept (JustWatch Guides US).
Maniac
Maniac follows a pharmaceutical trial in a reality-bending, one-season story. It is the most surreal and emotionally focused choice here, making it a better pick if you want a compact departure from a conventional mystery than a direct continuation of Severance’s workplace tension (JustWatch Guides US; Metacritic).

How to choose your next show
- For delayed answers and a widening mystery: start with Lost, Fringe, or Counterpart.
- For speculative technology, memory, or identity: try Black Mirror, Homecoming, Devs, or Westworld.
- For institutions and workplace power: choose Corporate, Homecoming, or Counterpart.
- For an isolated or surreal world: consider Silo or Maniac.
These are different routes into the qualities that make Severance compelling, not a ranking of which series is most similar overall.
Where to stream these shows
Streaming catalogs vary by country and change over time. JustWatch’s guide is US-focused; its service listings reflect catalog checks dated October 7, 2026, so treat them as a snapshot rather than a guarantee of what is available now or in another region (JustWatch Guides US). Check a local service catalog before starting a subscription or planning a binge.
Other options if you want a different tone
- Upload: for a much more comic take on consciousness and the afterlife.
- Twin Peaks: for an older, stranger small-town mystery.
- Beacon 23: for science fiction centered on a remote station.
These alternatives are noted in JustWatch’s guide, but they offer more specific tonal or setting differences than the ten main picks (JustWatch Guides US).
