Night at the Museum leads this ranking of Robin Williams films, with a reported worldwide theatrical gross of $574.5 million. The list uses the worldwide figures in FilmDB’s Robin Williams credited box-office history, accessed October 7, 2026. It includes acting credits with usable worldwide data, including voice roles; it is a nominal-gross ranking, not an inflation-adjusted chart.

Robin Williams’s 10 highest-grossing films

Each figure below is FilmDB’s reported worldwide gross, in U.S. dollars. The ranking is based on theatrical receipts, not studio profit.

  2. Aladdin (1992) — $504.1 million. Williams voiced Genie and the Peddler. The Library of Congress gives the worldwide total as $504 million.
  3. Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) — $441.3 million. Williams played Daniel Hillard, who disguises himself as Mrs. Doubtfire.
  4. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009) — $413.1 million. Williams returned as Theodore Roosevelt.
  5. Happy Feet (2006) — $384.3 million. Williams voiced Ramon and Lovelace.

  8. Jumanji (1995) — $262.8 million. Williams played Alan Parrish.
  9. Robots (2005) — $262.5 million. Williams voiced Fender.
  10. Good Will Hunting (1997) — $225.9 million. Williams played therapist Sean Maguire.

How to read this box-office ranking

Worldwide gross is not profit

Worldwide gross refers to ticket receipts across territories. It does not subtract production, distribution, or marketing costs, so it cannot show how much a film earned for its studio. The ranking uses reported nominal grosses rather than adjusting ticket sales for inflation. IMDb defines domestic box office as North America (the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico unless otherwise noted), with international figures covering the rest of the world; this list uses the combined worldwide measure.

Rankings depend on coverage and reporting

There is no single definitive ledger of every film credit and box-office total for an actor. FilmDB’s page includes 45 acting credits with usable worldwide data, while Box Office Watch’s Robin Williams film ranking lists 32 films. The trackers do not cover the same set of titles, so their figures should not be combined into one ranking. FilmDB’s $504.1 million for the 1992 Aladdin is close to The Numbers’ $504,050,219 and the Library of Congress’s rounded $504 million, but sources may report different totals for other films.

#1 Best Overall

Historical box-office figures deserve particular care. IMDb’s box-office help page, updated September 2, 2025, notes that older-film data can be incomplete and that reporting may confuse theatrical rentals with gross receipts. Its concise warning: “Movie grosses reporting isn’t an exact science.” The FilmDB figures here are database-reported totals, not audited statements.
