This is a curated watchlist, not an official Netflix ranking. It updates an early-month “10 best” list whose author said it covered releases only through June 3, 2024, by adding titles confirmed in later June listings.
Availability depended on country: the June 19 JustWatch guide covers the United States, and Netflix’s calendar notes that Hit Man was scheduled for June 7 in select countries. A June date below should not be read as a worldwide Netflix release date.
What are the best new movies on Netflix in June 2024?
“Best” is a matter of taste, so these ten picks are organized by the kind of viewing they suit—not by a quality score or popularity ranking. Some are documentaries, a particularly good fit for viewers seeking nonfiction; others broaden the list with fiction and family viewing. The evidence for some titles establishes their arrival and premise, while for others it confirms only that they appeared on a June additions list.

| Pokémon Detective Pikachu | Family adventure | Forbes characterized it as a live-action/CGI family adventure. JustWatch confirmed it among U.S. June additions. |
| Godzilla Minus One | Japanese kaiju film | JustWatch’s U.S. guide highlighted its June 1 arrival and identified it as a Japanese kaiju film. |
Documentaries and nonfiction picks
How to Rob a Bank
For a documentary-centered choice, start here. What’s on Netflix identifies the film as a documentary about Seattle bank robber Scott Scurlock, and Netflix’s calendar scheduled it for June 5. That makes it the clearest nonfiction recommendation in this list for viewers drawn to a real crime story.

Check the film descriptions in your Netflix market if you want to know which better suits your interests.
Drama, comedy, and genre films
Cold Copy
Forbes called Cold Copy a Netflix streaming debut in June and placed it among its picks published June 1. It is a useful option if you want a film beyond established catalog titles, though the accessible description does not establish a fuller plot summary.

1917 and Simón
These picks offer very different kinds of drama. 1917 centers on a World War I mission, while Simón is described as a story of Venezuelan protest and exile. Both appeared in Forbes’s early-month selection; 1917 was also listed by JustWatch for U.S. Netflix in June.
Hit Man
Richard Linklater’s action comedy pairs a premise built around mistaken identity and performance with Glen Powell and Adria Arjona. Netflix’s description follows a straitlaced professor who finds he has a knack for posing as a hit man. Its scheduled June 7 availability was for select countries, not a guaranteed global date.

What new movies came to Netflix in June 2024?
The ten picks above are not a complete additions calendar. Other titles confirmed in the June listings include Baby Boy, La La Land, The Lego Movie, Crazy Rich Asians, Aftersun, The Lego Batman Movie, Trigger Warning, Mysteries of the Terracotta Warriors, and A Family Affair. JustWatch’s June guide confirms the first six among U.S. additions; Netflix’s calendar lists the latter four for June 21, June 12, and June 28 respectively, with A Family Affair starring Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, and Joey King in a romance involving a young woman, her mother, and her movie-star boss.
Why June release dates vary by country
The month’s lists combine Netflix-branded releases with licensed films, and those do not necessarily have the same geographic reach. What’s on Netflix’s May 27 preview distinguishes Netflix Original films expected globally from licensed titles specifically heading to U.S. Netflix, noting that licensed films may already be available in other territories. JustWatch’s additions guide is explicitly U.S.-scoped. Treat a date as market-specific unless the listing identifies a broader release.

For historical context, Forbes’s June 1 article was an early-month snapshot with a June 3 cutoff, not a final month-end ranking. Its visible entries include Cold Copy, 1917, Simón, Pokémon Detective Pikachu, and Baby Boy; the available article details do not establish the complete final order or full rationale for all ten. The later June guide here therefore makes its own taste-based selections from titles confirmed in the calendar and additions lists.
