Here are 10 anime picks to keep on your 2026 watchlist, split between brand-new series and returning franchises. This is a curated selection, not a measured popularity ranking: no shared audience poll or comparable anticipation statistic supports an objective top ten. Release status can change quickly, so check each official listing for the latest date and availability in your region.

1. Firefly Wedding
A brand-new series in Crunchyroll’s Fall 2026 lineup. The lineup establishes its season placement, but confirm the current listing for its final launch date and regional viewing options.
2. Overgeared
Also identified as a new Fall 2026 series. The cited lineup does not establish further premise details here, so the most useful thing to verify before watching is its current official show page and availability where you live.

- English dub, Japanese language, English subtitles
3. The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life
This long-titled series is another brand-new Fall 2026 pick. Use the platform’s current show page to confirm the preferred English title spelling, launch status and synopsis.
Returning anime seasons on the 2026 watchlist
These are new seasons of established properties, not new anime franchises. They belong on a 2026 watchlist, but the distinction matters if you are looking specifically for first-season premieres.
Rank #2
4. Black Clover Season 2
Crunchyroll’s Fall 2026 lineup includes a second season of Black Clover. Check the current listing for release status and territory-specific availability.
5. The Apothecary Diaries Season 3
The third season is likewise a continuation, listed for Fall 2026. Crunchyroll’s announcement notes that availability varies by territory, so verify the show page for your region rather than assuming it streams everywhere.

6. Ranma 1/2 Season 3
MAPPA’s June announcement previewed a segment about Season 3 ahead of an October broadcast. Since October has arrived, that announcement alone does not establish whether the season has premiered; check MAPPA’s current updates before treating it as upcoming. MAPPA news and announcements.
7. ONE PIECE (2026 continuation)
ONE PIECE is an ongoing franchise, not a new series debut. Toei Animation announced a schedule change for 2026: the series would move to two cours per year, with up to 26 new episodes annually. Its 2026 Cour 1 was scheduled for April, following a January–March production break. Those are schedule plans, not a reason to describe the series as a new anime. Toei Animation’s 2026 schedule announcement.
Rank #4
8. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2
A secondary 2026 roundup names this sequel season as a candidate, but that coverage does not establish its current premiere status, date or platform. Treat it as a title to verify, not a confirmed upcoming release. The roundup’s candidate list.
9. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3
The same secondary roundup includes Season 3. It does not establish a season-specific release date or distribution, and MAPPA’s cited announcement is not enough to confirm either. Look for current official season information before planning a watch date. The roundup’s candidate list.

Quick Recap
How to use this watchlist
- Want a genuinely new series? Start with Firefly Wedding, Overgeared or The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life, all named as new Fall 2026 series in Crunchyroll’s lineup.
- Following an existing story? The Fall lineup includes new seasons of Black Clover and The Apothecary Diaries; Ranma 1/2, ONE PIECE, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Jujutsu Kaisen are continuations or sequel-season candidates.
- Checking where to watch? Use the title’s current official platform listing, because announced territory availability is not necessarily worldwide and schedules can change.
- Reading “most anticipated” literally? These picks are editorial selections, not a ranked list backed by a common popularity measure. No comparable anticipation statistic was established for them.
