1. Daenerys Targaryen

7. Silver fox

Choose a wig or temporary color
A wig gives you a silver or white silhouette without coloring your own hair; choose its length and shape to suit the costume. A long white wig, for example, can support the braided Daenerys look. Mehron says to apply its Hair Silver and Hair White gradually with a brush or sponge. The color darkens somewhat as it dries, and extra coats may be needed; the manufacturer says to remove it with shampoo and water. Check the current package for ingredients and directions, and test on a small section before the event. The brand’s Hair White & Hair Silver product information does not establish an exact shade, transfer resistance, or suitability for every hair type.
Make a DIY look from clothes you have
Begin with the outfit’s main silhouette, then add only the details that make the idea readable: a crescent for the moon goddess, a cameo for the Victorian spirit, or a dragon motif for Daenerys. Check comfort and safety before wearing it
- Make movement easy: Check that shoes fit, the costume is short enough not to trip you, and accessories stay secure. Avoid long hems or tails that drag.
- Keep vision clear: The FDA recommends bright or reflective costumes and makeup or hats rather than masks that obscure vision. Keep crowns and hats out of your eyes.
- Check flame resistance: The FDA advises choosing costumes labeled flame resistant or using flame-resistant fabric when making one. The American Academy of Pediatrics also recommends checking labels on costumes, wigs, and accessories.
- Test makeup in advance: The FDA recommends testing makeup on your arm 24–48 hours ahead. Check that color additives are approved for their intended use, especially near the eyes; the AAP also advises patch testing.
- Skip unprescribed decorative contacts: The FDA says colored decorative lenses should be professionally fitted and used with instructions from an eye-care professional. The AAP advises against them without an eye exam and prescription.
