“Left” can mean several different things on Bridgerton: a character’s story reached an ending, a performer did not appear in a later season, or a role was recast. A February 2026 Yahoo-syndicated article names these ten actors, but it is an editorial selection—not an official Netflix list or a formal definition of the show’s main cast.
What “left the series” means in these cases
The ten names do not represent ten confirmed departures for the same reason. Some characters have clear story resolutions, one role was recast after a reported scheduling conflict, and several performers simply were not featured in later seasons covered by the article. Unless an actor or production explanation is specifically attributed below, the character’s screen story should not be treated as proof of why the performer was absent.
The list and most of its context come from Allison DeGrushe’s Yahoo News article published February 6, 2026. Its reporting shares a lineage with a syndicated AOL copy for Ruby Barker’s remarks, so the two copies are not independent confirmation of every detail.
The ten actors and their Bridgerton storylines
| Actor and role | Tenure or story outcome described | What is established about the departure |
|---|---|---|
| Regé-Jean Page — Simon Basset | Featured in season one; the article reports that his departure prompted a strong audience response. | Executive producer Shonda Rhimes said, in remarks from a 2021 Vanity Fair interview reported by the article, “I don’t know that I expected this much of an explosion, given that every book [in the Bridgerton series] is a different romance,” and, “We gave them their happily ever after!” This frames the show’s season-by-season romances, not a private employment explanation. |
| Sabrina Bartlett — Siena Rosso | Siena ends her affair with Anthony and moves on. | The character’s story reaches a resolution. The article does not establish a specific employment reason for Bartlett’s absence. |
| Ben Miller — Lord Archibald Featherington | Lord Featherington is murdered after trying to recover gambling losses. | This is the character’s plot outcome; no particular reason for Miller’s departure is established. |
| Phoebe Dynevor — Daphne Basset | Played Daphne across seasons one and two. | As reported from a 2023 Variety interview, Dynevor said, “I’ve done what I wanted to do with that character and she had a great arc,” while leaving open the possibility of returning. The article does not verify a current return plan. |
| Ruby Stokes — Francesca Bridgerton | Played Francesca in the first two seasons; Hannah Dodd subsequently took over the role. | The article attributes Stokes’s departure to a scheduling conflict with Netflix’s Lockwood & Co.. This is the clearest specific production-related explanation in the list. |
| Calam Lynch — Theo Sharpe | Played Theo in season two. Theo is connected to Eloise and Lady Whistledown’s identity. | The article does not give a definite reason for Lynch’s later absence. |
| Rupert Young — Lord Jack Featherington | Jack’s deception is exposed, and Portia forces him to leave. | This explains the character’s exit from the story, not Young’s contract or personal circumstances. |
| Ruby Barker — Marina Thompson/Crane | Appeared in seasons one and two. | The article reports Barker’s public remarks about mental-health struggles and needing support, including: “Sometimes you’ve just got to take a break and you’ve got to say, ‘I just can’t do this right now. I need support.’” It does not establish that those circumstances caused her departure. |
| Charithra Chandran — Edwina Sharma | Appeared in season two; the article describes Edwina’s romantic storyline. | It offers little departure-specific context. |
| Shelley Conn — Mary Sharma | Appeared in season two as Edwina’s mother and Kate’s stepmother. | It offers little departure-specific context. |
Why did Regé-Jean Page leave Bridgerton?
The available account does not establish a private or contractual reason for Page’s departure. Rhimes’s quoted comments instead explain the storytelling approach: each book in Julia Quinn’s series centers on a different romance, and Simon and Daphne received what she described as their “happily ever after.” That is a statement about the series’ structure and the characters’ arc, not evidence of a dispute or other specific cause.

Is Phoebe Dynevor coming back?
Dynevor said in the 2023 Variety interview, as reported by Yahoo, that she had done what she wanted with Daphne and that the character had a strong arc; the article also says she left the possibility of a return open. That does not confirm that she will appear again. The cited coverage does not establish current return plans for Dynevor or the other actors.
Which departures have a clear explanation?
- Role recast: Stokes’s Francesca was recast with Hannah Dodd after a reported scheduling conflict with Lockwood & Co..
- Character-story ending: Siena moves on from Anthony; Lord Archibald is murdered; Lord Jack is forced to leave. These outcomes describe the characters, not the actors’ employment circumstances.
- Actor’s account of an arc: Dynevor described her work on Daphne as complete while leaving a return possible.
- Absence without a stated reason: The article supplies little or no departure-specific explanation for Bartlett, Miller, Lynch, Barker, Chandran or Conn beyond the character and season details above.
For Barker in particular, her comments about mental health should not be turned into a causal explanation for leaving Bridgerton; the cited coverage does not make that connection.

Bridgerton and the books
The series is based on Julia Quinn’s novels, but the television adaptation follows its own casting and storytelling choices. Readers curious about the source material can explore Quinn’s Bridgerton book series; the novels and the show are related, not interchangeable accounts of the cast’s production history.
