For U.S. viewers, East of Eden is the clearest starting point this week: it leads JustWatch’s U.S. TV chart, and Netflix’s October 6 Top 10 also highlights it. The ten picks below are a curated watchlist, not a single measured ranking. JustWatch tracks recent user activity, Netflix ranks titles within its own U.S. chart, and Nielsen measures viewing minutes over a separate, earlier week.
10 shows to add to your watchlist this week
This selection draws on titles in Tom’s Guide’s October 6 snapshot of Netflix’s U.S. Top 10, with JustWatch’s October 8 chart and Nielsen’s latest available viewing data used as separate popularity signals. The order below is an editorial mix of genre, discoverability and reported availability—not a combined chart rank.
-
East of Eden
A generational family drama and the leader of JustWatch’s U.S. TV chart on October 8. Tom’s Guide describes it as a seven-part period drama and also singles it out from Netflix’s U.S. Top 10 snapshot. If you want a finite story rather than an open-ended series, seven parts may make it an easier commitment; confirm Netflix availability in your region before starting. Murder in a Small Town
A slowly unfolding cozy crime mystery, according to Tom’s Guide. Its October 6 article says both seasons—18 episodes in total—were available on Netflix at that time. That makes it a substantial multi-season option, though the catalog can change. Tom’s Guide, October 6

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story
A strong pick if you want a crime-centered drama: it appeared in Netflix’s October 6 U.S. Top 10, and Nielsen ranked it second among original programs for September 14–20, 2026, with 1,481 million minutes viewed. That Nielsen figure is a weekly U.S. panel measure, not a current-week rank or a count of viewers who finished the series. Netflix Top 10 · Nielsen Streaming TV Top 10

American Horror Story
For viewers in the mood for horror, this anthology series was sixth on JustWatch’s U.S. TV chart on October 8. Because its seasons tell distinct stories, check which season is available and whether it matches the kind of horror you want; the chart itself does not provide a season-by-season binge guide. MobLand
A crime-drama choice that placed seventh on JustWatch’s October 8 U.S. chart. That position signals recent activity on the service, not a viewing-time total. How to read the rankings
These charts answer different questions, so their positions should not be merged into one supposedly definitive top ten.
| Signal | What it measures | Window and scope |
|---|---|---|
| JustWatch daily chart | User activity, including clicking an offer, adding a title to a watchlist and marking a title seen; it also displays providers. | U.S. chart refreshed October 8, 2026; activity can be calculated over the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. |
| Netflix U.S. Top 10 | A title’s position in Netflix’s own country-specific chart, as summarized in Tom’s Guide’s snapshot. | Tom’s Guide’s snapshot is dated October 6, 2026; Netflix notes some titles may not be available in all regions, and Top 10 charts appear only in selected countries and territories. |
| Nielsen weekly minutes viewed | Estimated total viewing minutes among persons 2+, based on the Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings and Nielsen National TV Panel, viewing through television. | U.S. viewing for September 14–20, 2026. Provider lists shown in the charts are not necessarily exhaustive: Nielsen says the viewing data include streaming on platforms beyond those listed. |
JustWatch says its charts draw on activity from more than 50 million movie and TV fans per month and update daily across 140 countries and 4,500 streaming services. Those figures describe the platform’s reported reach and coverage, not a census of all viewers. JustWatch chart methodology
Find the right binge for your week
- Want a story with a stated endpoint? Start with East of Eden; Tom’s Guide describes it as seven parts.
- Prefer a longer mystery? Murder in a Small Town had 18 episodes across two seasons on Netflix in Tom’s Guide’s October 6 snapshot.
- Looking for fantasy adventure? Percy Jackson and the Olympians had seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix in that same snapshot.
- Choosing by current chart activity? East of Eden led JustWatch’s U.S. TV chart on October 8, but that is not a claim about hours watched.
- Choosing by measured viewing? Use Nielsen’s dated weekly minutes as a distinct, historical signal rather than a live ranking.
Availability and season counts can change, and services vary by country. Netflix itself cautions: “Some titles may not be available in all regions.” Check the title’s current listing in your country before planning a marathon. Netflix Top 10 and methodology note
