If you want another glossy ensemble full of secrets, money and murder, start with Big Little Lies or The White Lotus. For a closer wealthy-family disappearance mystery, try Apples Never Fall; for the Nicole Kidman and Liane Moriarty connection, choose Nine Perfect Strangers. These are different kinds of follow-ups, not ten versions of the same show.
The Perfect Couple is a six-episode limited series adapted from Elin Hilderbrand’s novel. Its Nantucket wedding gathering turns into an investigation after a body is found, amid a wealthy family’s secrets. Netflix describes it with tags including “Soapy,” “Suspenseful,” “Dysfunctional Family” and “Mystery” on its title page; those are catalog labels, not critical verdicts. The list below is ordered by how closely each show matches particular parts of that setup.
Best shows like The Perfect Couple, ranked by what you want next
1. Big Little Lies — for polished domestic secrets and a murder investigation
This is the strongest all-around next watch if you liked the mix of affluent characters, strained relationships and a crime that draws a community into its orbit. Set among wealthy women in Monterey, the series connects their personal lives to a murder investigation involving one of their partners. Like The Perfect Couple, it has a source-novel-to-screen lineage and stars Nicole Kidman. It is less a wedding-weekend whodunit than a domestic drama whose secrets gradually come into view. TV Guide and Us Weekly also identify it as a natural follow-up.
Best for: marriage tension, a polished ensemble and a central murder thread.

2. The White Lotus — for luxury-resort tension and dark comedy
Choose this if the destination, wealth and uneasy social dynamics mattered more to you than solving a single family murder. Each season follows guests and staff at a luxury resort, with a new setting and ensemble; class friction, suspicious motives and darkly comic observation drive the story. Meghann Fahy is a cast connection to The Perfect Couple. Its anthology structure and broader resort focus make it an adjacent match, not another wedding-family mystery. TV Guide and Us Weekly recommend it for similar appeal.
Best for: class satire, vacation glamour and darkly funny social suspicion.
3. Apples Never Fall — for a wealthy-family disappearance mystery
This is the closest match if you want a prosperous family at the center of a mystery. The family’s matriarch disappears, and her husband becomes a person of interest. Based on a Liane Moriarty novel, it shares the affluent-family secrets and adaptation appeal of The Perfect Couple, but its inciting event is a disappearance rather than a body found during a wedding gathering. TV Guide and Us Weekly include it among the closest options.
Best for: family secrets and a disappearance that raises questions about the people closest to the missing person.
Rank #2
4. The Undoing — for a marriage under suspicion
Nicole Kidman leads this relationship thriller, in which a murder investigation throws a marriage into doubt. It also shares director and producer Susanne Bier with The Perfect Couple, according to TV Guide. Expect a more serious thriller emphasis than a playful, crowded wedding-party whodunit.
Best for: a high-profile marriage, suspicion and a murder plot.
5. Nine Perfect Strangers — for secrets at a retreat
Nine guests arrive at a wellness retreat and find that the people around them—including the guru played by Nicole Kidman—have troubling secrets. The show shares Kidman and a Liane Moriarty adaptation connection with The Perfect Couple, but replaces a Nantucket murder-weekend with a retreat and its pressure-cooker group dynamics. Us Weekly and The Mary Sue point to it as a related watch.
Best for: an isolated ensemble, uneasy secrets and the Moriarty–Kidman connection.

Five sisters and a high-stakes life-insurance investigation anchor this black comedy. Eve Hewson links its cast to The Perfect Couple, but the main draw is the sisters’ complicated bond and the comic bite—not a glamorous destination or a wedding gathering. Us Weekly and The Mary Sue recommend it for viewers drawn to family dysfunction.
Best for: sibling dynamics, an investigation and dark comedy.
7. The Staircase — for a death, a wealthy family and the legal aftermath
This HBO limited series follows novelist Michael Peterson after his wife’s death and his emergence as a prime suspect. It is based on the earlier true-crime docuseries, so the appeal is a real case and the procedural and legal questions around it—not the heightened fictional wedding-party setup of The Perfect Couple. TV Guide describes the connection as a family disrupted by a death.
Best for: a true-crime story with more focus on investigation and legal proceedings.
8. Succession — for wealthy-family power struggles
If the family’s money, status and dysfunction were your favorite ingredients, Succession is a strong tonal detour. Its central conflict is control of a media company as the father’s health declines, not a murder puzzle. It offers sharp dark humor and family maneuvering without the mystery structure. Us Weekly lists it as an option for viewers seeking a wealthy dysfunctional family.
Best for: power battles, inheritance stakes and a caustic family ensemble.
9. Bad Monkey — for eccentric crime comedy
A demoted former detective is pulled into an investigation after a severed arm is found. Adapted from Carl Hiaasen’s novel, Bad Monkey is the lighter, more eccentric crime-comedy choice on this list. Its colorful ensemble and crime plot may appeal if you want a less solemn follow-up, but it is not a close match for the family drama. Us Weekly includes it among possible next watches.
Best for: comic crime and an offbeat investigation.

10. Dynasty — for heightened rich-family soap
The CW reboot of Dynasty centers on feuding Carrington and Colby families, fortunes and control. It is the least mystery-focused recommendation here: pick it for wealth, rivalry and deliberately heightened melodrama rather than a murder investigation. Us Weekly describes its family feud as a draw for viewers who want more soap.
Best for: fortunes, family feuds and soapy excess.
