Music festivals
1. Mawazine — Rabat
Mawazine is a large, multi-artist music festival, with artists and stages scheduled across its dates. The official site lists its 2026 edition for June 19–27. Consult its current program and ticket information for the performances and venues you want; the dates alone do not establish when individual artists play.
2. Gnaoua and World Music Festival — Essaouira
This festival places Gnaoua music and culture alongside international musical exchange. Its organizer announced the 2026 edition for June 25–27. The National Tourism Office says it has promoted Gnaoua music and culture since 1998. The same guide reports almost 300,000 visitors over three days, but gives no publication year for that figure, so it should not be read as a current attendance estimate.
3. Fes Festival of World Sacred Music — Fes
Held in Fes since 1994, according to the National Tourism Office, the festival brings together emerging talent and established international artists. The cited guide does not establish a 2026 date, so use it as a reason to explore the city’s music calendar rather than as a fixed travel date.

Timitar is a music festival identified by the National Tourism Office as part of Morocco’s summer festival circuit. The guide does not confirm this year’s edition dates; check with the organizer before booking an itinerary around it.
Cinema and popular arts in Marrakech
5. Marrakech International Film Festival
The festival’s official agenda lists its 23rd edition for November 20–28, 2026. Its foundation says its purpose is to encourage the creation, promotion, and distribution of cinema in Morocco and internationally. For visitors, it offers a film-focused alternative to the country’s music and harvest gatherings; consult the official agenda for program and venue details.
Rank #2
6. Marrakech Festival of Popular Arts
The National Tourism Office includes this event in its overview of Morocco’s varied music festival scene, identifying it with music and popular arts. The guide does not give a current edition date, so confirm whether and when it is scheduled before making plans.
Heritage and community gatherings
7. International Festival of Nomads — M’Hamid el-Ghizlane
In the Drâa Valley, this cultural event is associated with nomadic tribes and cultural identity. The National Tourism Office places it in March. That is useful seasonal orientation, not a confirmed 2026 schedule.
Rank #3
8. Tan-Tan Moussem — Tan-Tan
The National Tourism Office says Tan-Tan has hosted this gathering since 1963. It brings together Saharan nomadic tribes, with music, dance, song, games, crafts, and tbourida, a traditional equestrian performance. The guide does not provide a current edition date.
Harvest celebrations
9. Rose Festival — Kelâat M’Gouna
The Rose Festival celebrates the local rose harvest. The National Tourism Office describes the bloom season as April–May and the celebration as a three-day event every May. Since exact dates are not established in the guide, confirm the annual schedule before arranging transport or accommodation.
10. Cherry Festival — Sefrou
This harvest festival celebrates cherries in Sefrou. The National Tourism Office gives June as its usual season but does not confirm specific dates for 2026.

- Start with the event’s official calendar. The Tourism Office’s seasonal descriptions help identify likely months, but only current organizer information can confirm a particular edition’s dates and program.
- Verify the details before booking. Check dates, location, venue, ticket arrangements, and any schedule updates with the organizer. The Marrakech-Safi Regional Tourism Council cautions that events on its calendar may be cancelled or postponed and advises checking its online events calendar.
- Choose by the experience you want. Rabat, Essaouira, Fes, Marrakech, and Agadir offer music or cinema options; M’Hamid el-Ghizlane and Tan-Tan foreground cultural gatherings; Kelâat M’Gouna and Sefrou center on harvests.
- Allow for date overlap when planning a multi-city trip. In 2026, Mawazine in Rabat and the Gnaoua festival in Essaouira run on overlapping dates, June 25–27. Attending both therefore requires accounting for travel between cities and the specific performances you hope to see.
One additional 2026 event appears on the Marrakech-Safi regional tourism calendar: Samaa Marrakech Festival, described as a celebration of spiritual and Sufi music, is listed for December 3–6. It is a useful option for a Marrakech visit, though it is not included in this countrywide ten-event shortlist.
