7 Scary Realities for Americans with Donald Trump as President

Nov 20, 2022 | Articles, Political

When the presidential campaign and nominations were starting, Donald Trump was just a novelty, a celebrity candidate that looked like a joke that will go away in two weeks. But he has worked his way, and is now the leading Republican presidential candidate, crushing the race and polls. As bizarre as it sounds, Americans need to think long and hard about what the future will look like with Trump as president.

Politics experts in the United States are alarming that a global disaster could happen if Trump is elected. No one could assume what Trump-led White House would look like. While it is true that when Trump enters the Oval office he will have advisors and experts, his remarks during the campaign are something that puts fear in lots of Americans. The only good thing that might come out of the campaign is his vow “When I’m president, I’m a different person”. Here are some scary thoughts with Trump as President of the United States.

The Mexico Wall

Some two to three years into Trump’s presidency, Americans might have a new Wonder of the Modern World on their soil. That would be no other than the Mexico Wall, spanning across the whole border. According to Trump, the Wall will cost approximately $8 billion, and he fully believes he can make Mexico pay for part of the price.

Trump believes he can make Mexico pay by blocking money transfers from US to Mexico. According to some estimates, Mexicans living abroad sent more than $25 billion in 2015 only. The Republican Presidential candidate expects a one-time payment from Mexico.

The architectural grandeur will be more than just measure to block immigrants from Mexico, it will also serve as a tourist attraction, in the same way as the Great Wall of China.

Freedom of Press is a thing of the Past

“We are going to sue you like you never got sued before”. This is an actual quote from Donald Trump during his campaign in Texas.

The Presidential candidate promised to open up the liberal laws of the country to the point where people will be encouraged to sue media and press and “win lots of money”. That action would be catastrophic and shows no respect for the First Amendment and freedom of the press.

To be fair, Trump does have a point saying that the “media writes purposely negative, horrible and false articles”, but throwing the First Amendment in the garbage can is not a solution to the problem.

Abortion is Mission Impossible

Imagine you are a woman, and you have had an abortion. And then, the US Government sues you and seeks punishment for “your crime”. That is the scary reality Americans are facing if Donald Trump is elected president.

During a presidential debate, Trump said that the women seeking abortion should be “subject to some form of punishment”. He did later recant his comment, but the reality is that Trump is against abortion.

In another debate, Trump said that he is “pro-life” when it comes to Planned Parenthood. In the end, the Republican presidential candidate does acknowledge that Planned Parenthood is a good thing, and they do great stuff for women as screenings for breast and cervical cancer. However, he would stop funding the program because it does more than just screening for cancer.

LGBT Rights are withdrawn

Remember that epic achievement in the United States when the Supreme Court allowed homosexual marriages to be legal? Marriage is an equal right in the United States at the moment, and if Trump is elected President, those rights might be withdrawn.

To be fair, Trump doesn’t mind homosexual marriages allowed by states. He has a problem being a nationwide law. Trump believes that states should make their own laws about marriage equality. So, if Trump is elected president, Americans might need to move to another state to get married.

Health Care is a Luxury, not a Right

Public health care might be the most controversial, but also the most prominent law that is left by President Obama. The Affordable Care Act, or called Obamacare will be a thing of the past. Trump has repeatedly stated that he will end Obamacare because it is horror, and replace it with something “terrific”, for “far less money”,

At the moment, there are 20 million people in the United States that are getting treatment thanks to the Affordable Care Act. Imagine if a cancer treatment is cut in the middle of the process because you no longer have coverage, and you now have to pay cash out of your pocket? The idea is crazy, and could haunt Donald Trump.

Salaries Stay Down

If things are not hard on you and your family now, imagine how hard they can be with Donald Trump as president. At the moment, the minimum guaranteed wage in the United States is $7.25 per hour, and the Republican presidential candidate thinks it is too high. Forget the Fight for 15 that is currently happening in Canada and some cities and states in the United States.

To be fair, his reply to why he wants low minimum wage is encouraging. Trump says that he wants to open jobs so that you can work and provide for your family and don’t have to worry for minimum wage.

Bring Your Gun to Work Day

With Trump as President, carrying a gun could be as common as carrying a smartphone. Or in other words, carrying a gun will become a commodity, not a luxury or privilege. Republican Presidential candidate believes that one way to fight crime is to empower people and gun owners to use their arms for defense every way possible.

On his campaign webpage, Trump says the following “Law enforcement is great, they do a tremendous job, but they can’t be everywhere all of the time. Our personal protection is ultimately up to us. That’s why I’m a gun owner, that’s why I have a concealed carry permit, and that’s why tens of millions of Americans have concealed carry permits as well. It’s just common sense. To make America great again, we’re going to go after criminals and put the law back on the side of the law-abiding”.
