What the headline and listing establish
Collider’s Mariska Hargitay topic listing displayed the headline on September 27, 2025, and credited the item to Amanda M. Castro. Its search-result snippet says, “The character’s death came as a shock to fans.” The snippet does not name the character, identify an episode, or describe whether the death occurs on screen or is reported in dialogue. “The end of an era” is the headline’s framing, not an independently verified description of what changed in the series. Without the character’s identity and the episode details, it is not possible to assess the significance of the departure.
Is this the death mentioned in the Season 27 premiere review?
Collider separately listed a September 26, 2025 review of the Season 27 premiere with the description “A Fan-Favorite’s Death Sets the Stage for One of the Strongest Episodes of the Series.” That establishes that the review refers to a fan-favorite death, but the accessible listing does not name the character or connect that death to the September 27 headline. Treating them as the same event would go beyond what the listings confirm. Collider’s review listing

What remains unconfirmed
- The character’s name and role in the series.
- The episode title, season, and air date associated with the death.
- Whether the death is shown on screen or described by another character.
- Whether it is the same death referenced in the Season 27 premiere review.
- What the event means for the series or its characters.
No attributable statement from a cast member, producer, network representative, or official episode record is available in the listings. Until the article body or an official episode source identifies the event, the headline alone is not enough to answer which character died.
