How to interpret the results
A fan preference snapshot, not a national ranking
The poll is evidence of preferences recorded in one Goo Ranking exercise as described by secondary outlets. The reporting available here does not provide a sample size, total vote count, or enough methodology detail to assess how participants were recruited or how representative they were. The title’s phrase “Japan ranks” therefore overstates what the evidence can show: the results do not stand for every Japanese reader.
Not a sales or quality chart
A fan poll measures responses to a poll; it does not establish manga sales, readership totals, critical consensus, or global popularity. Nor does the result show why voters chose a particular series. The sources do not demonstrate that anime adaptations, circulation, or any other factor caused a title’s placement.

Choosing a series from the list
A ranking can be a starting point, but the reported positions alone do not tell a reader which series will suit them. Compare the kind of reading experience you want—action, comedy, sports and romance, or drama—and check whether the series’ length and publication status fit your preferences. A readable first volume is a more useful test of personal fit than a poll position. These are practical selection criteria, not factors established as drivers of the Goo Ranking result.
