No reliable source confirms that Randy Orton shared a weight gain goal ahead of a match with Gunther. The headline circulating under that claim cannot be tied to an original interview, a named figure, an on-record quote, or a dated match, so it should be treated as an unverified report rather than a statement from Orton.
What the headline claims
The headline suggests that Orton disclosed an unusual body-weight target while preparing for a bout with Gunther, a wrestler who has worked in WWE and other promotions. Reading that claim closely reveals three separate assertions: that Orton said something, that the goal involved weight gain, and that it was tied to a specific match. Each needs its own evidence.
What can be established
The only item located that carries this headline is a scraped page on hotcore.info. That page repeats the headline alongside unrelated Randy Orton snippets and merchandise images. It shows the headline was indexed online. It does not show that the underlying reporting is accurate.
What cannot be established
- No original interview was identified, so there is no primary source for what Orton said, when, or to whom.
- No weight figure has been verified. Any number attached to the headline should be treated as unsupported.
- No quote from Orton or an official WWE source was found. Paraphrases of the headline are not evidence of a statement.
- No match date or event has been confirmed for a bout between Orton and Gunther connected to this story.
How to check a claim like this yourself
- Search for the interview itself, not the headline. Look for the outlet, the interviewer’s name, and a publication date.
- Open the original article or video and confirm that the weight-gain remark appears in Orton’s own words, not in a headline or a summary.
- Check the match context. Confirm on an official WWE results or event listing that the two wrestlers were actually booked against each other, and note the date.
- Compare the timing. A remark made months before or after a booking may not refer to that match at all.
- If the only copies are aggregator pages, scraped sites, or social posts without a source, treat the claim as unconfirmed.
What a reliable report would need
- A direct quote from Orton, attributed to a named interview with a date.
- A link to the full interview or a transcript from the original outlet.
- Confirmation of the match, including date and event, from WWE or a reputable wrestling publication.
- Any numerical figure stated in the quote itself, not added by a headline writer.
Until those elements appear, the accurate summary is simple: a headline has circulated, but its central claim has not been substantiated.
