Batista’s high-profile singles defeats include a disqualification loss to JBL, a World Heavyweight Championship loss to The Undertaker, and a farewell-match defeat by Triple H. Those three examples are supported by WWE’s own pages; the available records do not verify ten distinct opponents, so a ten-name list would overstate the evidence.
JBL: Batista lost the match by disqualification
At The Great American Bash in 2005, JBL was awarded a singles victory over World Heavyweight Champion Batista by disqualification. WWE’s event report says Batista used a chair on JBL and Orlando Jordan, and the referee saw the final act. The result counts as a Batista loss, but it was not a pinfall or submission victory for JBL. WWE’s Great American Bash 2005 report records the unusual finish.
The Undertaker: a championship changed hands at WrestleMania 23
The Undertaker defeated Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 23. This is the clearest major-stakes example: Batista lost the title in a one-on-one match. WWE’s later Backlash 2007 report refers to the WrestleMania result and separately records their rematch as a draw in a Last Man Standing match. That later draw should not be mistaken for the WrestleMania title change. WWE’s Backlash 2007 report provides that match context.
Triple H: Batista’s farewell match
WWE’s Batista profile identifies Triple H as the opponent who defeated him in the brawl that served as Batista’s farewell. The profile establishes the winner and the farewell context, but the available record here does not provide enough detail to specify the event date, stipulation, or finish. WWE’s Batista profile supports the broad outcome.

Why John Cena is not one of the verified Batista conquerors here
Big-name rivalries can make a list of Batista losses sound plausible, but each match has to be checked on its own. WWE’s SummerSlam 2008 match page says Batista defeated John Cena in their first-ever singles bout. That match is evidence against including Cena as a Batista conqueror on the basis of their famous rivalry; it does not establish the result of every later meeting. WWE’s SummerSlam 2008 match page records the result.

A reliable count requires checking every proposed match for three things: Batista actually lost, the contest was singles rather than tag or multi-person, and the result was a defeat rather than a draw. The WWE records available for this topic confirm the three opponents above, but do not provide a complete ledger of his singles losses or verify seven more names. Rather than pad the list with plausible rivals or misclassify protected finishes, this account names only the outcomes the cited pages support.
