Two points matter when reading these dates. First, the streaming premiere came before the Showtime broadcast, so U.S. viewers could watch the opening episodes on Paramount+ before the channel aired them. Second, the international list is limited to the markets named in the announcement. Local service names, catalogs, and release days may differ from the U.S. schedule, so check the service in your country before assuming the same date applies.
Why Season 3 was delayed
The main documented cause is the 2023 labor disruption in Hollywood. Writing and production for many scripted series stopped during the strikes, and Yellowjackets was affected in the same way.

The writers’ room and the WGA strike
Entertainment Tonight reported that the Season 3 writers’ room worked for only one day before the WGA strike began. The report attributed that detail to co-creator Ashley Lyle. A single day of room work is a clear sign of how early the schedule was interrupted, since the room had little time to build the season before writing stopped.
Production and the SAG-AFTRA strike
Entertainment Tonight also reported that the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes held back production. Actors could not work under the SAG-AFTRA strike, so a series still in production could not proceed on schedule even after the writing side had settled. The Associated Press, in reporting from September 25, 2023, listed Yellowjackets among the productions that were waiting for an actors’ agreement after the writers’ strike ended.
What the reporting does not establish
The strike reporting explains why Season 3 started late. It does not describe every internal decision that set the final February 2025 date. Post-production timing, programming calendars, and the scheduling choices Paramount and Showtime made after production resumed are not explained in the sources cited here. A reader should treat the strikes as the documented main cause, not as the only one.

No. As of October 8, 2026, Paramount’s official catalog for Yellowjackets lists Seasons 1 through 3 as available, so Season 3 is an already released season. The same catalog identifies the Season 4 premiere as November 20, 2026. If you are searching for the Season 3 release date, the February 2025 dates above are the ones that apply.
