In April 2025, before The Wheel of Time Season 3 finished airing, star Josha Stradowski said he was confident the show would get a fourth season. That was an expression of hope, not a renewal announcement: Prime Video canceled the series after three seasons the following month.

In a TechRadar interview published April 14, 2025, actors Josha Stradowski, who plays Rand al’Thor, and Daniel Henney, who plays Lan Mandragoran, discussed the show’s prospects before Season 3 began airing. Henney said, “We don’t know much,” and described the cast as hopeful, with their fingers crossed. Stradowski replied, “Yeah, we’re confident [that a fourth season will be greenlit].”

The television adaptation is based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy novels. Amazon describes the complete saga as 14 volumes, including a prequel. Stradowski discussed The Shadow Rising, the fourth novel, as the point when he understood the series’ appeal; Season 3 was based on that book, according to TechRadar.
