Ryan Gosling plays stuntman Colt Seavers, and Emily Blunt plays director Jody Moreno, Colt’s former partner, in the 2024 film The Fall Guy. Most of the supporting roles are built around the production of Metalstorm, the science-fiction movie Jody is directing inside the story, and around the disappearance of its star, Tom Ryder.
Who plays who in The Fall Guy
The table below lists the principal cast as mapped in Universal’s press materials and in cast guides from TheWrap and SYFY Wire. It is the core cast, not a complete list of every credited performer.

The two leads
Ryan Gosling as Colt Seavers
Colt is a veteran stuntman whose career was nearly ended by a serious accident. He is persuaded to return to stunt work on Jody’s film, where he doubles for the star, Tom Ryder. When Tom goes missing and the production is put at risk, Colt’s search for him leads into a conspiracy, and he becomes the film’s central investigator.
In SYFY Wire’s April 29, 2024 cast breakdown by Josh Weiss, Gosling describes the character this way: “It’s not about superheroes, but about the people who play them.” The line points to the film’s focus on working stunt performers rather than action-hero myth.

Emily Blunt as Jody Moreno
Jody is Colt’s former partner and the director of Metalstorm. She is the person who draws Colt back into stunt work, and she is responsible for keeping the film moving once its star disappears.
Blunt, quoted in the same SYFY Wire feature, gives a sense of how the character is written: “She isn’t defined solely by her role as a director; but she is passionate, creative, eccentric, and endearing.”
The Metalstorm production
Metalstorm is the fictional big-budget movie being made inside The Fall Guy. SYFY Wire describes it as a science-fiction tentpole. Its crew and cast supply most of the supporting characters, and each one connects to the plot through the production itself.
Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson)
Tom is the star of Metalstorm and the actor Colt doubles for. His disappearance launches the mystery at the centre of the film, and everything Colt does afterward is aimed at finding him. Taylor-Johnson, quoted by SYFY Wire, offers this about the character: “At his core, he’s a narcissist.”

Gail Meyer (Hannah Waddingham)
Gail is the producer. With Tom missing, she is trying to keep Metalstorm on schedule, so her scenes show the financial and logistical pressure the disappearance creates for everyone else on set.
Dan Tucker (Winston Duke)
Dan is Colt’s friend and the stunt coordinator on Metalstorm. He is the most direct link between Colt’s past in stunt work and the film’s current production. Duke has said of the role: “Metalstorm is one of Dan’s first jobs as a coordinator.” That detail matters for the character, since Dan is still establishing his own reputation in a job that Colt has held for years.
Alma Milan (Stephanie Hsu)
Alma is Tom Ryder’s assistant. TheWrap’s May 3, 2024 cast guide by Andi Ortiz singles out a memorable car fight connected to her role, making her one of the supporting performers whose action sequences are noted by critics.
Iggy Starr (Teresa Palmer)
Iggy is Tom’s girlfriend and a member of the Metalstorm ensemble. Her role places her close to the missing star, but the sources cited here do not describe her specific function in the plot beyond that relationship.
Rank #3
- The Fall Guy Blu-Ray
Film context: the 2024 movie, not the TV series
The Fall Guy is inspired by the hit 1980s television series, a point Universal makes in its press release. The film was directed by David Leitch, with a screenplay by Drew Pearce. Its characters are new to this story, and the names in the cast table belong to the 2024 feature, not to the earlier show.
Home release and runtime
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment announced the home release in a July 1, 2024 press release. The details below are announced release plans, not a guarantee of current stock or pricing.
