Ashley said the experience changed how she thinks about compassion: “Your empathy has to have boundaries.” She also described the backlash as “so dark, it was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in my actual life.”
Speaking about the trust at the heart of the marriage, Ashley said: “He is a pathological liar and I was looking at this man like who are you? If we don’t have the two biggest things in a marriage which are trust and honesty, then what do we have?” The quote is her characterization in the interview, not an independent determination about Tyler.

What Ashley and Tyler said at the Season 7 reunion
The May interview was not Ashley’s first public comment on the controversy. At the Love Is Blind Season 7 reunion in 2024, Tyler said he had voluntarily helped a friend and wanted to protect the children’s identities. Ashley said she knew about the situation and had chosen what she would take on.
Netflix’s reunion recap quoted Ashley describing Tyler as “a good person, who went in a little too deep and didn’t know what to do next,” and saying, “I was aware and took on what I wanted to.” Those comments show her position at the reunion; they predate her later account of what she said she learned after searching his laptop.

The reunion discussion and Ashley’s later interview are accounts by the people involved. They do not, by themselves, settle every disputed detail of Tyler’s family history or his relationship with the children’s mother.

Ashley and Tyler met on Season 7 of Love Is Blind, got engaged in the pods and married on the show. Netflix’s October 2024 cast update described them as married and included their comments about the controversy. That was an earlier status update: the pair announced their separation in January 2025.

In the May interview, Ashley said she had not seen Tyler since the separation. In June 2025, she posted that their divorce had been finalized, framing the milestone as a new beginning. Us Weekly’s June 28, 2025 account reported the update and reproduced her post.
