Prime Video’s Fallout is a live-action adaptation of Bethesda’s video game franchise. Its first two seasons are available to stream, and Season 3 is confirmed—but Amazon had not announced a premiere date as of its June 19, 2026 update.
What is Prime Video’s Fallout about?
The series takes place 200 years after an apocalypse. People raised in luxurious fallout shelters are forced to return to the surface, where the world their ancestors left behind is irradiated, violent, complicated and darkly comic. The show adapts the games’ setting and franchise rather than simply retelling one game’s plot. Amazon’s series listing and studio update describe the premise and the continuing story.

The central characters
- Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) is among the shelter residents drawn into the world above.
- Maximus (Aaron Moten) and Cooper Howard, also known as the Ghoul (Walton Goggins), are other central figures whose paths intersect with Lucy’s.
- Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan), Norm MacLean (Moisés Arias) and Barb Howard (Frances Turner) are also part of the series’ cast.
Which seasons are available, and how many episodes are there?
Both seasons are available on Prime Video, according to Amazon’s current guide. Each has eight episodes. The season dates below are those shown in Prime Video’s catalog; availability and catalog details can vary by location.

What is known about Season 3?
Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed a third season. In an update dated June 19, 2026, Amazon said filming was beginning that month in Los Angeles. The studio had not announced a release date, so there is no confirmed premiere date to report.
Returning performers and new cast
Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten and Walton Goggins are among the returning leads named by Amazon. Annabel O’Hagan (Steph) and Dave Register (Chet) are also returning, promoted to series regulars for Season 3. The new cast members announced were Aaron Paul, Emily Mortimer, Manny Jacinto and Thomasin McKenzie. Amazon’s June 2026 update lists these cast details.

Who makes the series?
Fallout is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films, in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner are the creators and co-showrunners. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are executive producers, and Nolan directed the first three episodes. The adaptation therefore brings together the television production teams and the game franchise’s rights holders and creators.
How many people have watched Fallout?
Amazon MGM Studios said in 2026 that the first two seasons had drawn more than 100 million viewers worldwide. The studio also said they ranked among Prime Video’s four most-watched seasons of all time during the first 13 weeks after Season 2 began streaming. Where can you watch it?
Amazon says the series is available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories. Its current guide lists Seasons 1 and 2 as available; local availability, catalog listings and membership terms can vary. The Season 3 announcement also names Prime Video as its exclusive home. Check the Prime Video listing for availability in your region.
The catalog includes content advisories for mature material. The exact notices differ by season and may vary by regional listing: Season 2’s page also notes flashing lights and strobing patterns, while Season 1’s includes nudity and sexual content. Review the local season listing if those advisories matter to your viewing decision.
