Yes, if you want a short, knowingly silly holiday musical built around the Jonas Brothers playing heightened versions of themselves. At 1 hour 19 minutes, it is built to be easy to sit through. It is less likely to satisfy viewers who need memorable new songs, a surprising plot, or large-scale dance numbers, because the published reviews are divided on exactly those points.

This guide sets out what Disney’s official listings and announcements establish, along with two published reviews. It does not rely on scene-by-scene viewing notes, so treat the judgments on tone and pacing as the reviewers’ rather than ours.

What the film is

A Very Jonas Christmas Movie premiered on Disney+ on November 14, 2025. The film’s Disney+ catalog entry lists the following details:

  • Runtime: 1 hour 19 minutes
  • Rating: TV-PG
  • Genres: Comedy, Music, Musicals, and Fantasy
  • Director: Jessica Yu

Disney’s production credits list Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas as producers. Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are among the writers, and Justin Tranter is executive music producer. The film is produced by 20th Television.

The premise: a Christmas trip that keeps going wrong

Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas play versions of themselves. After a tour date in London, the brothers try to reach New York in time for Christmas. Travel setbacks then raise tension about their roles within the band and about the bond between them. The story follows the familiar homecoming pattern: the journey supplies the obstacles, and the reunion supplies the payoff.

Tom’s Guide’s reviewer, Rory Mellon, found the brothers’ chemistry and banter the film’s main strength. The same review found the Christmas plot familiar and the Joe love-interest thread less inspired. Those two points are the core of the fit question: the film trades plot originality for its performers’ rapport.

Where to watch

  • Disney+ announced the film for a November 14, 2025 premiere on Disney+ and Hulu, according to its November 3, 2025 trailer announcement.
  • The Disney+ catalog lists the title. Availability varies by country and changes over time, so confirm the title on Disney+ or Hulu in your region before planning a viewing.

The cast

Disney’s announced cast and the official fact sheet list the following performers and roles:

Performer Role in the film, as announced
Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas Playing versions of themselves
Chloe Bennet Lucy
Billie Lourd Cassidy
Laverne Cox Stacy
KJ Apa Gene
Andrew Barth Feldman Ethan
Andrea Martin Deb
Randall Park Brad
Jesse Tyler Ferguson Santa
Kenny G Himself
Justin Tranter Himself
Priyanka Chopra Jonas Herself
Danielle Jonas Herself

Is it a musical?

Officially, yes. Disney’s listing places it under Music and Musicals, and Disney says the film contains seven original songs. The soundtrack, released digitally, on CD, and on LP beginning November 14, 2025, according to Disney’s November 3, 2025 announcement, has ten entries. The extra entries are alternate versions and a featured collaboration, so the seven original songs cannot be matched one-to-one with the track list.

The songs are short, and the reviews disagree on how much they carry the film. Tom’s Guide said the new tunes did not leave a strong impression. The Daily Beast criticized the musical staging, describing relaxed, walking-based choreography and calling the movie lightweight. Read together, the evidence suggests the songs punctuate the comedy rather than drive it. That is an editorial reading of the official format against those two reviews, not a measured audience finding.

What the filmmakers were aiming for

These are promotional interview statements from the creators and cast, published in D23’s 2025 interview with the Jonas Brothers. They describe intent rather than results.

  • Isaac Aptaker, on the family audience: “That was a real goal of ours, to make something that entertains little kids, but that also has a few jokes that will fly over their heads that their parents can appreciate.”
  • Nick Jonas, on the emotional note: “A great Christmas film pulls on your heartstrings and makes you appreciate being around the people you hold closest to you during that season.”
  • Joe Jonas, on returning to Disney: “The doors are still open. Twenty years later, [we’re] celebrating doing this together. Having Disney as a partner, it’s really special.”

How critics split

The published reviews are divided, not in agreement.

  • Tom’s Guide (Rory Mellon, December 13, 2025): a favorable review that calls the film a charming, self-aware watch, praises the brothers’ chemistry and banter, and states reservations about the familiar plot, the Joe love-interest thread, and the songs.
  • The Daily Beast: a markedly less favorable review that calls the movie lightweight and faults its choreography and overall energy.

Neither review is a consensus, and the film’s reception should be read as mixed on whether the musical numbers feel lively enough.

Who should watch it, and who should skip it

If you want Likely fit
Sibling banter and Jonas Brothers nostalgia Strong fit, supported by both the official framing and Tom’s Guide
A light family film with some jokes aimed at adults Matches the writers’ stated goal
A surprising or original holiday plot Weak fit; reviewers found the story familiar
Memorable new songs Uncertain to weak; reviewers were not impressed by the tunes
Elaborate, high-energy musical staging Weak fit; The Daily Beast criticized the choreography and energy

When comparing it with another holiday film or musical, four questions make the comparison concrete:

  • How central are the songs to the storytelling?
  • Does the humor depend on knowing the performers?
  • How conventional or surprising is the travel-and-reunion plot?
  • What is the scale and energy of the musical staging?
