Zoe Kent is an eighth-generation corn and soybean producer in Ohio who runs the family operation and shares its daily work online as @farmwithzoe. She became the official owner in 2021 after a transition her father, Mickey, helped structure over several years, and her short videos give viewers a look at the tractor cab, the farm shop, and the office. The most detailed account of her story is a Successful Farming profile by Lisa Foust Prater, published April 4, 2026.
Who Zoe Kent is
Kent is an eighth-generation farmer in Ohio, growing corn and soybeans. Her family has worked the same operation for generations, and she is now the person making day-to-day and long-term decisions for it. Beyond the fields, she is also a content creator who posts under the name Farm With Zoe, and a large part of her public profile comes from that work.
How she took over the family farm
Kent’s path into ownership was gradual rather than a single handover. According to her account in the Successful Farming profile, her father’s health issues led him to retire, and she stepped into a larger role after returning to the farm. The transition unfolded in stages, and each stage is described below as Kent reported it.
Stage one: returning and working alongside her father
After she came back to the farm, Mickey Kent brought her into the important meetings. Kent told Successful Farming: “Since the moment I stepped back on the farm, he would take me to all the important meetings.”

Stage two: a partnership with shared decisions
The two became partners and made decisions jointly. Mickey still held a 51% ownership stake, which gave him the final say if they disagreed. Kent described it this way: “We transitioned into being partners so we were making joint decisions, but at the end of the day, he was the 51 % owner so if we disagreed on something, he would get final say.”
Stage three: ownership and a trust
Kent says she and her parents met with an attorney and placed the land into a trust. She summarized the arrangement in three parts: “Our transition is made up of three parts: I bought in, I bought my dad out, and the land will be transferred after my parents pass away.” She officially became owner in 2021.

Those details are Kent’s own account of her family’s arrangement, reported by Successful Farming. They are not legal or tax guidance, and families considering a similar structure should work with their own attorney and accountant.
What the videos show
Kent’s content is built around short clips of about 90 seconds each. They offer glimpses of the tractor cab, the farm shop, and the office, and Mickey appears in many of them. The format favors quick, visual moments over full explanations.

That limit is one Kent acknowledges. She said: “I try to sneak in as much context as I can, but you can’t explain crop insurance in 90 seconds.” Viewers should treat the videos as behind-the-scenes looks at daily farm life rather than as complete instruction on topics such as insurance, financing, or farm management.
Why she posts, and the audience she has built
Kent said she did not expect to gain so many followers when she started. The Successful Farming profile describes her audience as hundreds of thousands across social media. The article does not break that figure down by platform, and no current platform-level follower totals were established for this piece, so it is best read as a broad description rather than a precise count.
Rank #4
Creating content takes time during a busy growing season, and Kent is open about that trade-off. She described the experience this way: “It has been really cool. I’ve had so many great opportunities to connect with other people.”

Source and date
This article draws on Lisa Foust Prater’s Successful Farming profile, “Zoe Kent Shares Real Farm Life With Hundreds of Thousands Online,” published April 4, 2026. Quotes and succession details are attributed to Kent as reported in that article.
Some facts in this story rest on that single profile. The 51% stake, the 2021 ownership date, and the trust arrangement are reported from Kent’s account, and the 90-second format and the audience description are reported in the same source.
Successful Farming itself is a farm publication. Readers interested in Kent’s account of her family’s decisions should read the full profile for context and wording.
