Law Roach claimed in March 2026 that Zendaya and Tom Holland had already married. Holland appeared to confirm the wedding in June, but Roach said in September that he had lied and that the couple had not had an official ceremony yet. Those statements conflict, and the available reports do not establish the couple’s legal status or a definitive ceremony date.
What happened, and when?
- March 1, 2026 — Roach’s claim: At the Actor Awards, Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach told Access Hollywood, “The wedding’s already happened, you missed it.” When asked whether that was true, he replied, “It’s very true.” The Los Angeles Times reported the next day that Zendaya and Holland, and their representatives, had not confirmed a marriage.
- June 16, 2026 — Holland’s remark: In an Esquire interview, Holland was asked whether he had to tell family members about AI-generated wedding pictures. He replied, “No, because they were all there,” then declined to elaborate: “That’s all you’ll get on that.” The Associated Press described this as an apparent confirmation, while The Guardian reported it as confirmation.
- September 14, 2026 — Roach walks back his claim: On the Emmy Awards carpet, Roach said, “I actually lied,” and said, “She actually hasn’t had an official ceremony yet.” Asked if he could be lying again, he answered, “I could.” The San Francisco Chronicle reported the exchange.
So, are they married?
The public record in these reports does not settle that question. Holland’s June comment suggested that family members had attended a wedding, and major outlets interpreted it as confirmation. Roach’s later account directly undercut his original claim, while his “I could” answer left open whether his latest statement was reliable. None of these reports establishes a legal record or resolves the contradiction with an unambiguous statement from Zendaya or Holland.
Why the AI wedding images are not proof
Holland’s June answer came in the context of AI-generated wedding pictures. The images prompted the question, but their existence does not verify that a real wedding took place. The stronger evidence in the coverage is what Holland and Roach said—and those remarks do not provide a consistent, definitive account.
