When did Idols come out, and what is the album?
Idols was released on 20 June 2025. Universal Music Canada described it as Yungblud’s fourth studio album and the first installment of a planned double album; the second part’s release date was not announced in the label’s release. The 12-track record was recorded in Leeds with Yungblud, longtime songwriting and production partner Matt Schwartz, guitarist Adam Warrington, and multi-instrumentalist Bob Bradley. These details appear in Universal Music Canada’s album announcement.
In that release, Yungblud described “Ghosts” as a song about mortality: “It’s about comprehending mortality. I wrote it while walking down the banks of the River Thames, thinking how many people had walked the same path and what was going through their heads while they were doing it.”
