Marvel’s March 2025 cast announcement named 27 actors for Avengers: Doomsday, spanning MCU Avengers and allies, the Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts characters, Wakandan and Talokan characters, and returning Fox-era X-Men actors. That list is not the final cast. In September 2026, co-director Anthony Russo said some cast members had been announced and some had not, and Disney’s own guide describes some cast and characters as still a mystery. Disney’s guide also names performers who do not appear on the original 27, so the March 2025 list is best read as a starting point rather than a complete roster.
Who is confirmed in the March 2025 announcement
D23 published the 27 names from the March 2025 reveal. Disney’s current guide adds character details for many of them. Where the guide does not name a character, the list below does not supply one.

Disney’s guide also names Mabel Cadena as Namora. She is not on the March 2025 list, so she belongs to the later group described below.

Disney’s guide says these six reprise characters associated with Thunderbolts*. It does not list a specific role for each in the material reviewed, so check the official guide before assuming a character name.

Robert Downey Jr. and Doctor Doom
Robert Downey Jr. is the most-discussed name on the list. Disney’s guide says he returns to the MCU in a new role as Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom. Disney+ states there is no confirmed connection between Tony Stark and Doom. Fan theories linking the two characters are speculation, and the official guide does not support them.
Names added beyond the March 2025 list
Disney’s current guide confirms Hayley Atwell and Kathryn Newton. Neither appears among the 27 names D23 published, and the same is true of Mabel Cadena as Namora. Any article that treats the 27-name list as the complete announced roster is therefore out of date.

Why the cast is not a final list
Russo’s comment is the clearest statement on the point. He said the cast is “so large, and we’ve announced some of the cast, and we haven’t announced some of the cast.” Disney+ similarly describes some cast and characters as still unrevealed. Until the studio publishes a complete list, the accurate label is “the announced cast,” not “the full cast.”

The film is not currently streamable. Do not plan a home viewing based on any date before Disney announces one.
Do you need to watch anything first?
No. Disney+ says viewers can start with Avengers: Doomsday without having seen earlier Marvel films or shows. If you want background, the official guidance points to these options:
- The Disney+ countdown collection and Marvel collection, referenced in Disney+’s guide
- Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War, listed as suggested viewing on Disney’s US film page
- The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts*, also suggested on the US film page
These are optional suggestions, not requirements, and the official material does not rank them by importance to the plot.
