What happens in You Season 4?
Joe starts over in London under the name Jonathan Moore, working as a college professor. He is drawn into an affluent social circle whose members are targeted by the so-called Eat the Rich Killer. Rather than remain outside the case, Joe takes it upon himself to investigate.

What is the Rhys twist?
Spoilers: The Rhys who interacts with Joe as if he were an independent accomplice and enemy is a manifestation of Joe’s fractured psyche. The real Rhys Montrose is distinct from this imagined version. Joe committed the murders attributed to the Eat the Rich Killer, but he dissociated from his actions, including imprisoning Marienne.
Netflix Tudum’s finale explainer describes the reveal and its consequences. The twist makes the apparent investigation another way Joe avoids recognizing his own responsibility: he treats the killer as someone else even as he is the one committing the crimes.

How does You Season 4 end?
Joe jumps from a bridge but survives. He returns to New York with Kate, and he continues to protect himself from consequences: he kills Edward and frames Nadia for Edward’s death. The ending leaves Joe with a renewed public life and a further concealed crime.
Showrunner Sera Gamble told Netflix Tudum of the bridge scene: “The thing that was important to us in the bridge scene was that this is the first time he actually truly says out loud what he is.”
How was Season 4 released?
Netflix’s November 24, 2022 announcement originally scheduled the season in two parts: February 9 and March 9, 2023. Those were the announced release dates at the time, not upcoming dates.
Is You based on a book?
Netflix describes the series as based on Caroline Kepnes’ You book series. That establishes the show’s source-material connection, but not that Season 4 adapts a particular novel. Readers interested in the books can approach them as related source material rather than assume a one-to-one match with this season.

No. Netflix announced on March 24, 2023 that You would return for a fifth and final season, as stated in its renewal announcement.
