No. On April 3, 2025, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker denied prosecutors’ request to revoke Young Thug’s probation over a social-media repost. The judge said the cited post did not meet the threshold for a probation violation, while advising him to exercise restraint on certain topics.
What Young Thug reposted
Young Thug, whose legal name is Jeffery Williams, pleaded guilty in October 2024 and received a sentence that included probation. In April 2025, prosecutors asked a Fulton County court to revoke that probation after Williams reposted a blogger’s post about investigator Marissa Viverito, who had testified during his trial. The blogger’s post criticized Viverito and referred to her visibility while testifying in a separate proceeding. Associated Press State filing
Why prosecutors sought revocation
Prosecutors alleged that the post and its amplification contributed to threats against Viverito and her family, as well as threats against District Attorney Fani Willis. In its motion, the state said the post drew more than two million views and thousands of comments and retweets. The defense argued that Williams was not responsible for threats made by other social-media users and that the repost did not establish a probation violation. What the judge decided
After reviewing the state’s filing and the defense response, Judge Paige Reese Whitaker declined to revoke Williams’s probation based on the violation asserted. The Associated Press reproduced the order’s operative language: “Having reviewed the terms and conditions of Defendant’s probation imposed by this Court, the Court declines to revoke Defendant’s probation based on the violation asserted.” Associated Press
The judge also wrote: “While the court does not find that the cited social media post rises to the level of a violation of defendant’s probation, it may be prudent for Defendant to exercise restraint regarding certain topics.” Associated Press

What the ruling does—and does not—establish
The decision resolved the state’s April 2025 request to revoke probation over this repost. It does not establish Williams’s probation status as of 2026, or resolve any later court activity. The ruling reported here is limited to the violation prosecutors asserted in that request.
