There is no reliable, complete list of wrestlers Chyna privately loved or hated. The clearest documented relationships are her real-life partnership with Triple H and, later, her relationship with Sean Waltman (X-Pac). Shawn Michaels is firmly part of her professional story as a D-Generation X colleague, but the available accounts do not establish a romantic relationship or a private love-or-hate judgment. On-screen pairings and feuds are not proof of off-screen feelings.
Triple H: Chyna’s most documented relationship
Chyna and Paul Levesque, known as Triple H, were real-life partners as well as colleagues in WWF/WWE. WWE’s official profile describes Chyna as an original D-Generation X member and the bodyguard for Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Sportsnet also identifies Triple H as Chyna’s real-life boyfriend and treats the relationship as important context for her time with the company: Sportsnet’s retrospective.
Chyna’s account of the breakup and her departure
In a 2011 interview, Chyna said she found a letter from Stephanie McMahon, confronted the situation, and was later told WWE did not need her. She also recalled Vince McMahon discussing a new contract before she received that notice. Chyna returned to the subject in a 2015 interview, connecting her departure to “finding out about the affair between Hunter and Stephanie.” But the same interview complicates any claim that she simply hated Triple H: she said, “I’m proud of Hunter and where he is. The cause of Chyna’s departure remains disputed. Sportsnet reports that Vince McMahon has long denied that her prior relationship with Triple H caused her exit. A former manager, Anthony Anzaldo, later offered his own recollection of the discovery and confrontation; that is secondhand testimony, not independent confirmation: Wrestling Inc.’s account of Anzaldo’s version.
Shawn Michaels: an important colleague, not a proven romance
WWE’s profile places Michaels alongside Chyna and Triple H in original D-Generation X, with Chyna serving as bodyguard to both men. Sportsnet reports that Michaels and Triple H lobbied WWF to sign her after meeting her in 1996. Those accounts establish professional ties and support her early-career history; they do not show that Chyna and Michaels were romantic partners or establish how she privately felt about him.

Sean Waltman (X-Pac): a later real-life partner
Chyna later had a romantic relationship with Sean Waltman, known in wrestling as X-Pac. Wrestling Inc. reported on Waltman’s discussion of how the relationship began, citing The Steve Austin Show: Wrestling Inc.’s coverage of Waltman’s interview. Vice’s retrospective also places Waltman as a partner after Triple H: Vice’s account of Chyna’s life and legacy. The fact of a relationship does not, by itself, justify assigning either person a lasting private feeling such as love or hatred.
On-screen pairings are not evidence of private feelings
Sportsnet describes Chyna’s 2001 association with Eddie Guerrero as an alliance. That is a professional and on-screen pairing, not evidence that they were a real-life couple or that Chyna privately loved him. The same distinction applies to wrestling feuds: storylines are written and performed, so they cannot establish personal hostility.

There is likewise no sound basis here for adding Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, The Rock, or other WWF/DX names to a private “loved” or “hated” roster. WWE’s career profile documents Chyna’s work, and its 2019 Hall of Fame coverage documents D-Generation X honoring her; neither source provides a comprehensive account of her private friendships or conflicts.

Chyna’s history with these wrestlers is inseparable from her groundbreaking career, but it should not eclipse it. WWE’s profile says she held the Intercontinental and Women’s Championships and was the first woman to qualify for the King of the Ring tournament and the Royal Rumble Match. It records her Royal Rumble qualifications in 1999 and 2000.

At D-Generation X’s 2019 Hall of Fame induction, Triple H addressed Chyna’s sister in the audience, saying, “The real her. And believe me, the real her would love this,” according to WWE’s coverage. That tribute and Chyna’s 2015 public wish for Triple H’s happiness offer distinct glimpses of how they spoke about one another at different times; neither reveals everything about a private relationship.
