Disney released all of the season’s episodes on Disney+ on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in the U.S. and select international markets. Both dates are in the past as of October 2026, so this page covers what Disney announced and what it has since confirmed, with the dates and territories attached.
Season 2 release schedule
Disney announced the Season 2 dates on August 7, 2025, in its Disney+ Press release. The announcement set up two separate release steps, one for linear television and one for streaming, and the territory qualification applies only to the streaming step.

The schedule was repeated in Disney+ Press’s September 4, 2025 trailer announcement, which shows the dates were still current in Disney’s materials shortly before the premiere. D23 published corresponding details on August 7, 2025.
The announcement names specific markets for Disney+, not every country. If you are outside the U.S. and do not see the season on Disney+, check whether your market is one of the select international territories Disney lists for the service before assuming a release gap.

Returning original-series characters
- Bill Chott returns as Mr. Laritate.
- Sean Whalen returns as Mantooth.
- Amanda Tepe was announced for a special appearance in the Christmas-themed episode. The August 2025 announcement did not give a character name for her role.
Disney’s September 4, 2025 trailer announcement lists Chott, Whalen, and Tepe among the guest performers but does not attach character names, so the August announcement is the source for the roles above.

Regular cast
The announcement also named the series’ regular cast: David Henrie as Justin Russo, Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo.
Season 2 storyline
Disney’s synopsis for Season 2 says Billie finds family life more complicated now that she is no longer the only wizard in the house. Roman and Milo gain magical powers, and Justin trains three young wizards for the Family Wizard Competition. The studio also teases a new threat that could unravel the Russo family. This is Disney’s announced premise, not a plot summary checked against the episodes.

The final event announced for 2026
On April 2, 2026, The Walt Disney Company said the series would return with a four-part final event in summer 2026 on Disney+, Disney Channel, and Disney Channel On Demand. Selena Gomez is set to direct the premiere and reprise Alex Russo in multiple episodes. According to the announced story, Billie tries to rescue her mother and reunite with her long-lost father.
That update also said all episodes from the first two seasons were streaming on Disney+. It did not give an exact premiere day for the final event. If you are looking for that date, check Disney’s official channels, since a later schedule may have been published after April 2026.

- YouTube views: Disney reported more than 101 million lifetime views for the series on Disney Channel’s YouTube channel, based on Disney Channel YouTube Analytics through February 16, 2026. This figure comes from Disney and has not been independently audited.
- Nielsen ranking: Disney said the series was among the top five titles overall by views for viewers ages 6–11, 12–17, and 18–24 in the Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings for October 30 to November 26, 2024, the launch-month window Disney cited. The ranking applies to content with at least three episodes and an eight-minute run time, and it is a Disney-reported summary of Nielsen data rather than a public Nielsen release.
Those numbers describe Disney’s own reporting for the periods stated, not current viewership.
Read against the schedule above, the timeline is: the Season 2 linear premiere in September 2025, the full streaming release that October, and the four-part final event that Disney placed in summer 2026 without an exact date in its April announcement.

Two points are worth separating when you check the news. The Season 2 dates have passed and were confirmed in the August 2025 announcement. The final-event timing was described only as “summer 2026” in the April 2026 update, so any exact date must come from a newer official Disney listing.
Disney’s streaming release is the one that carries the territory qualification, so confirm your country before expecting a specific episode to appear on Disney+.
Disney’s materials gave the Season 2 premise and guest list as studio-authored synopsis and schedule copy rather than as quotations from named speakers, so this article does not quote any individual on the season.
The final event is the most recent official update Disney has supplied in the sources used here, so it is the right place to look for anything newer.
